We'll have a few more pounds to walk off around West Cornwall next month after we celebrated the launch of Helpful Holidays' second walking festival in fine style this week. Porthleven's beautiful harbour was the setting as Walk West Cornwall kicked off and we count down to 12th June and the first day of walks.
The festival runs for six days, from Monday 12th June to Sunday 18th June and everyone is welcome to join us to explore hidden corners of the most mysterious and unspoiled part of the county. There's a choice of 21 walks (and talks) over the six days, from gentle one mile strolls around Porthleven and Lamorna Cove to eight mile hikes around Cadgwith Cove and the Lizard headland.
Bev, our Porthleven-based property manager and Deputy Mayor of Porthleven, delivered the launch speech to an enthusiastic crowd, which included some of the walk leaders and Sarah Stott from Children's Hospice South West, the charity which will benefit from the festival. Bev initiated Walk West Cornwall in 2016 and has worked hard to introduce even more fascinating walks, involve local businesses and identify experienced walk leaders.

Hideaway Café, one of the local businesses sponsoring the festival, generously donated a scrumptious Cornish cream tea, which was enjoyed by all with a glass of bubbly to drink to the success of the 2017 event.
Come and join us in West Cornwall next month for some healthy exercise and sociable scenery. We'd love to see you!
