River Cottage Spring Food Fair

What's on

Tuck into a feast of family fun and fabulous flavours in east Devon this May half-term bank holiday...

Book an east Devon cottage in beautiful countryside or on the stunning 'Jurassic Coast' for half-term and the River Cottage Spring Food Fair will bring you treats aplenty over the weekend of 27th to 29th May 2017. The family-friendly event is a great opportunity to explore the River Cottage farm near Axminster in its spring greenery.

And there are 10 pairs of free tickets to the River Cottage Spring Food Fair worth £35 up for grabs! Simply register your name and email address by Tuesday 23rd May and you may be one of the lucky winners heading west to enjoy some famous River Cottage revelry.

Children will enjoy all sorts of free fun activities, including shelter building, collecting wood for campfires, welly wanging, hula hooping, giant bubbles and face painting.

The Fair’s new bee area will be buzzing, and there are workshops in beeswax candle making, felting, lucet braiding, pottery and woodcraft.
Peek behind the River Cottage HQ scenes on farm and garden tours, marvel at falconry displays and place bets on ferret racing. There are animals to meet and little ones can enjoy donkey rides.

And then, of course, there's the food... River Cottage Street Food joins forces with local artisan producers to serve up delicious dishes. Local ciders, beers, wines and seasonal cocktails will be poured and this year there's the chance to dine at the pop-up restaurant in the famous farmhouse, with its mouthwatering menu of fresh, seasonal produce.

Experts will be sharing culinary tips and gardening wisdom, with cookery demonstrations and horticulture talks. Put your new knowledge into action by booking popular masterclasses such as Bread and Butter from Scratch in an Hour, Wild Cocktails and Super Salads and Ferments, and Cookies and Doughnuts for children. Masterclasses start from £15.

More information and tickets are available at www.rivercottage.net/springfoodfair. River Cottage is running a free park and ride service to the Fair or park on site for £5 per car. Children under 16 are admitted free.
