These include:<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Allowable expenses<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Owners can deduct certain expenses from their taxable rental income. These include utility bills, repairs, insurance, and advertising, as long as the costs are incurred solely for the purposes of running the holiday let.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Replacement of Domestic Items Relief<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>This allows owners to deduct the cost of replacing furnishings and appliances in the property from their taxable rental income. However, it does not apply to the cost of initial purchases.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Business Rates and applicable reliefs<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>If your property is available for letting for a minimum of 140 days and actually let for at least 70 days per year, it may be subject to business rates rather than council tax.
