“A most beautiful peaceful and relaxing place to stay.”

So private and quiet. I almost don't want to tell anyone about this little gem in case it gets too booked up and I can't rebook

The property

Rock View Sheperd's Hut, a tranquil and romantic retreat, enjoys a peaceful woodland location close to the village of Gunnislake in Cornwall.

With no WiFi or TV, make this the base for that much-needed romantic rural getaway with your loved one.

From the sizeable parking spot, wander partly through the woodland to reach this rustic hideaway.

Step up and be welcomed by wonderful studio accommodation, touched with lovely copper features which hint towards the former copper mine grounds which this property sits on.

The delightful dining table sits as the perfect spot to enjoy a meal for two, then when the sun goes down, fold the table away and bring the snug double bed out for a comfortable sleep among the tranquil setting.

Two adults only.

The kitchen is compact and tasteful, while also here you will find a heart-warming woodburning stove for the chillier nights.

A crisp and fresh white shower room concludes this unique getaway.

Step outside to be at one with this magnificently rural location, choose from a decking overlooking the pond or a snug fire pit area with bench seating.

Also for your enjoyment a private wood-fired hot tub for two, or perhaps stroll the woodlands with the tweeting birds to accompany you.

The area also benefits from no light pollution, meaning you can enjoy beautiful star-gazing at night and for your own private use a wood-fired hot tub for two.

Gunnislake is a short drive away, it offers a selection of charming amenities and acts as a superb base for touring the area.

The Tamar Valley AONB is an idyllic landscape which is a paradise for avid walkers and cyclists.

The market town of Tavistock is easily reachable, exuding charm and boasting a range of fine amenities.

Slightly further afield is the striking port city of Plymouth, here you can make the most of some excellent activities suiting all tastes.

To get away from everyday life for a while, Rock View Shepherd's Hut could be the peaceful hideaway for you.

About the location

GUNNISLAKE

Tavistock 5 miles; Plymouth 18 miles.

The small rural village of Gunnislake lies on the steeply wooded banks of the River Tamar. It has village pubs and a small selection of shops. Notably, the village sits at one end of the scenic Tamar Valley Railway - with regular services along the river bank to Plymouth. The area is perfect for exploring Dartmoor, the south and north coast beaches and the attractions of Cornwall’s far west. Close to hand, the Dartmoor town of Tavistock with its pannier market, pubs and restaurants is a must, as well as the popular fishing village of Calstock, renowned for its crafts and festivals, while the Donkey Sanctuary and Cotehele House and Gardens (NT) are just 10 minutes away. Enjoy a round of golf at St Mellion (8 miles), explore the restored Victorian mining village at Morwellham Quay (4 miles), search for otters and deer along the Tamar Valley footpath, visit the National Trust owned Lydford Gorge, or take a trip to the beach and picturesque harbour at Looe (25 miles) - there’s something for everyone. For something really different, why not ride the scenic Tamar Valley Railway into Plymouth and spend the day in the fabulous Marine Aquarium or strolling the historic Plymouth Hoe?

Note: Use of washing machine, by arrangement. Spring water.
