  • “Access is really restricted ,anything as wide as a range rover would not get down lane.”

There is no tv in bedroom as stated. Bedroom is extremely damp, a dehumidifier is supplied which was filled with water within 4 hours and filled probably 3 times a day. The owners control the heating by an app so you have no control over the heating. Needs renovation ,it is quite isolated so be prepared to travel. Great if you just want to relax and just want to walk and do nothing else, very quiet location. Owners seem very nice people it is just not what I expected, very disappointed.

The property

Deep in tranquil, ancient, stone-walled moorland lanes, ¾ mile from Blisland's excellent pub and community shop, two 'upside down' cottages converted from 18th cent.

Grade II listed granite barns.

Gallons of cider were made within these sturdy walls.

Just a few hundred yards to the open moor; a lane walk down to the village (and back up!).

Shared laundry (washing machine/tumble drier).

No children, except pre-crawling babies.

A total chill-out retreat from the world, ideal for walkers and cyclists. Scrumpy: door from paved parking area to hall.

Roomy ground-floor double bedroom; bathroom (suite plus hand-shower).

Stairs up to living room with TV/DVD and view to own pretty little side garden (table/chairs).

Kitchen/dining room (microwave, fridge-freezer, electric cooker).

Blisland: attractive village (old cottages, good pub, PO/shop/internet café, medieval church) around a green in wooded farmland below the western edge of Bodmin Moor.

Nearby, the River Camel (trout/salmon fishing and Camel Trail cycleway).

The sea at Port Isaac, 9 miles, or Polzeath (sand/surf beach) and Rock (watersports), 12.Bodmin (town), 5.

About the location

Bodmin 5.7 miles; Wadebridge 8.4 miles; Polzeath 13.2 miles; Tintagel 13.8 miles; Padstow 16 miles; Fowey 17.2 miles.

Situated under the western edge of granite-bound Bodmin Moor, the village of Blisland retains its age old character and is the only village in Cornwall to have a village green with trees. Around the green, cluster old houses and cottages, as well as the famous, award-winning Blisland Inn. The village is located less than three miles from the A30, and so provides an ideal central location for touring Cornwall. Nearby, Poley’s Bridge marks the beginning of the Camel Trail, a 17-mile long route, which follows a long disused old steam engine railway line to Padstow. The route is completely traffic-free and perfect for walkers and cyclists. You can even explore the trail on horseback and a purpose-built hide has been constructed between Wadebridge and Padstow, so even birdwatchers are catered for! Pull on your walking boots and explore Bodmin Moor, or venture to the coast with your buckets and spades and enjoy a day on one of the many beautiful beaches that stretch along Cornwall’s northern coastline. A fabulous part of the country for all!

Note: Babes in arms only.
