    Mr Whitby

“On the first 4 or 5 visits we have made to this property over the last 10 years or so the pool temperature was always comfortable regardless of the time of year we stayed however the last 2 visits have left us with the clear impression that the new/current owners have lowered the temperature to a level where one finds yourself shivering and quite uncomfortable.”

On our previous visit we had been advised that work to the pool was the reason for the low temperature with insufficient time to heat the water up again. Unfortunately the temperature on this last visit was unchanged.

On our previous visit we had been advised that work to the pool was the reason for the low temperature with insufficient time to heat the water up again. Unfortunately the temperature on this last visit was unchanged. The pool we believe is a big part of this amazing property and the low temperature setting should be looked at in our opinion.

The property

On the steep hillside in Boscastle, a detached house with own indoor heated swimming pool (22' x 9'x 4'8" deep) and sauna, set within an enclosed garden (flowers, lawn, patio, table/chairs, barbecue).

Full of character and imagination and well-equipped, it has an ‘own home’ feel.

Long sea/headland views over the village from most windows.

Small living room with open fire and TV/DVD.

Large hub-of-house kitchen/dining room (dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer, electric cooker) with French windows to patio.

Utility room (washing machine) with lockable door to pool.

Shower-room (suite, next to swimming pool).

Upstairs (stairgate), three bedrooms - a lovely large double (5' bed, TV), light with ceiling to the rafters and two large bay windows (splendid views) and en suite bathroom (suite); a twin; and a single; shower-room (suite).

A much enjoyed house with a warm welcome. Boscastle: famous village (pubs) where two rivers meet the sea in a natural harbour between steep moorland hillsides.

Very lovely cliff and wooded-valley walks.

Pretty low-tide sand beach at Bossiney, 2 miles, or bigger Trebarwith Strand (surfing), 5; Tintagel, 3.

Pony-trekking locally.

About the location

BOSCASTLE

Tintagel 4 miles; Camelford 6 miles.

A perfect Cornish coastal village, the road through Boscastle runs down to the small harbour at the bottom of the hill. The quaint village shops, local restaurants and pubs offering good food, Cornish real ales and live entertainment by local musicians, make this an ever popular visitor destination. Spectacular cliff tops, rocky coves, wild surf, open fields and rich wildlife characterise this beautiful area. The coastal footpath passes through some of Britain’s most rugged and spectacular coastal scenery. The sandy beaches of Bossiney, Trebarwith Strand and Crackington Haven are all within 5 miles and the surfing beaches at Bude and Polzeath are within easy driving distance. Close at hand lie the delights of Tintagel, swathed in the legends of King Arthur, several stately homes and renowned gardens, or the wide open space of Bodmin Moor, famous for its granite tors and Daphne Du Maurier’s Jamaica Inn.
