A mile from Wadebridge, along a hedgerow lane leading to the downs, a charming cottage lovingly converted by the friendly owners from a barn attached to their 18th cent. cottage, originally a hostelry for travellers on the Saints’ Way (from Padstow to Spain). A footpath (1¼ miles) alongside the cottage takes you straight to the Camel Trail (walking/cycling). To the front, a neat and tidy, enclosed garden (table/chairs, barbecue) and, beyond, good-sized grassy space for ball games, all surrounded by meadows. Inside, light, airy and comfortable. Glazed door into open-plan living/dining/kitchen (washing machine, microwave, fridge, electric cooker) with oak worktops and floor, leather sofas and TV/DVD. Smart ground-floor bathroom (suite, shower over bath). Stairs (stairgate) from living area up to two bedrooms - a double (5' bed) with delightful long tranquil views, and a twin. Arrival after 4pm. A smashing cottage for walkers and cyclists to enjoy the Camel Trail and investigate the area.
Wadebridge: lively, small market town with plenty of shops, good restaurants, cinema, leisure centre (indoor pool) and fine medieval bridge on the river Camel, where bicycles can be hired for the Camel Trail. Padstow, 6 miles.
Two bedrooms: a king size double and a twin. Open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area. Bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC on ground floor.
