    • “Fantastic 7 days. Great location and great cottage. Easily booked with sykes. Would recommend highly”

    Mr Horton, Walsall, July 2018

    • “The location to the Kingsand seafront was excellent. Both Kingsand and Cawsand villages were quaint and attractive, local shops and pubs were all friendly. We were first time visitors to South East Cornwall and it was a real discovery. Visiting out of school holidays it was quiet and peaceful. Rose Cottage was spotlessly clean and everything functioned as described. A great trip.”

    Mr Hampson, Nottingham, June 2018

    • “Good location in village with comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen. Really felt like our home for the week.”

    Ms Castagnera, DRIFFIELD, May 2018

The Property

In the heart of Kingsand, within a hundred yards of two excellent pubs and the beach, one of the ancient cottages that make this village so delightful and other-world. It sits back-to-back with its sister cottage, which together formed a chapel in previous centuries, on a tiny lane where no traffic other than feet or two wheels pass. Access via 3 steps up from lane. Open-plan living/dining/kitchen (washer-drier, microwave, fridge, electric cooker) with surprisingly lofty ceiling giving clues to its former life, TV/DVD, iPod dock and step up to the kitchen area. Bathroom (suite, shower over bath). Steep stairs (stairgate) from hall (for coats/boots) up to two bedrooms, both with 5ft 9 door lintels - a double (hooks for clothes-hanging), and a bunk room (3' beds). Unloading/loading outside; car park, 150 yards. A smashing cottage tucked peacefully amid Kingsand's pretty little narrow streets, yet on the spot for beaches, pubs, cafés and walks.

Kingsand and Cawsand: exquisite adjoining fishing villages in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty sheltered by a wooded headland; pebble-and-sand beaches, family pubs, cafés, essential shops. Watersports hire in Cawsand. Whitsand Bay, 1 mile; Mount Edgcumbe (800 acres for walking), and seasonal pedestrian ferry to Plymouth (city amenities, theatre, cinema), 2½ miles. Plymouth by car ferry, 8½ miles.
