  • “We have stayed in many self catering cottages, but this has to be one of the best.”

Beautifully clean and tastefully decorated, with everything we needed, and excellent location. Situated close by where the property owners lived themselves, but we never felt our privacy was compromised, and they were friendly and helpful in every way.

The property

The Daffodil Shed is a tastefully decorated, detached barn conversion located within the beautiful grounds of the owners’ house, ideal for couples seeking a tranquil escape.

Located between Bere Alston village and Weir Quay you’ll find this bright and airy gem which started life as a flower packing shed.

Wander past the beautiful grounds and step into The Daffodil Shed, which comprises a wonderful open-plan living area with A-framed beams, and light, airy décor, which creates a vibrant atmosphere to relax in.

Among the layout, you will discover a contemporary kitchen/diner graced in a white and grey overtone, perfect for spending time with your loved one’s morning through to evening.

With comfy seating you can settle down in style throughout the day, then cosy up in the double bed which lies adjacent, for a lovely night's sleep.

The fresh contemporary feel continues round to the shower room, which finishes the property to a standard of quality.

Once you have spent some time relaxing indoors, why not wander outside to the lawned garden, your chance to take in the location at its finest.

For adventurous types there is a public slipway (with free parking) 0.5 miles away.

Bere Alston has village stores, post office / bakery, chemist, butchers and pub.

Situated in the beautiful Tamar Valley AONB and West Devon mining UNESCO world heritage site, there are plenty of countryside walks, along quiet lanes and numerous footpaths.

Just upstream from Bere Alston on the river Tamar is Morwellham Quay, a tiny harbour where half the world’s copper travelled through in the 1860s, and which is now a popular visitor attraction telling the story of copper mining through history.

Trains run between Bere Alston and Plymouth, on the picturesque Tamar Valley line, following the river for much of the route.

A modern place to stay with your loved ones.

About the location

BERE ALSTON

Tavistock 6 miles; Plymouth 12 miles.

Bere Alston is a small Devon village in a beautiful location between the rivers Tavy and Tamar, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village was once a thriving port shipping tin from Dartmoor. Just upstream from Bere Alston on the river Tamar is Morwellam Quay, a tiny harbour where half the world’s copper travelled through in the 1860s, and which is now a popular visitor attraction telling the story of copper mining through history. Trains run between Bere Alston and Plymouth, on the picturesque Tamar Valley line, following the river for much of the route. Bere Alston has a village shop and pub and there are plenty of stunning countryside walks. Two National Trust properties in the area are Cotehele, a Tudor manor house and glorious gardens stretching down to the river Tamar and Buckland Abbey, an estate on the river Tavy with craft workshops and family attractions.
