“A lovely property in great location, only a 5 minute walk to Crooklets beach.”

House had a lovely home from home feel to it and a great sized garden for our dogs too. Would definitely stay here again.

The property

Awel-Y-Mor is a charming, detached property on a residential road that runs down to Crooklets Beach, close to the centre of Bude, on Cornwall's north coast.

Awel-Y-Mor is a wonderful base for a family or group of six wanting to enjoy a coastal Cornish escape, with several sandy beaches in walking distance, offering fantastic swimming and surfing opportunities.

Step inside the property to find a contemporary, well-equipped kitchen, housing all of the necessary appliances to cook up delicious family meals, which can be enjoyed at the dining table, before retreat to the sofas in the living/dining room and relaxing beside the electric fire while enjoying your favourite shows on the TV.

There is a shower/utility room with a walk-in shower, basin, WC and a handy washing machine, while upstairs is a second shower room, which should limit queues for the bathroom in the mornings.

Upstairs, you will also find three bright and airy bedrooms, comprising a double, a twin with zip/link beds and dual aspect windows, plus a single with truckle bed that's perfect for children.

Outside, you will find off-road parking for three cars, as well as a large garden with patio areas for seating, which is perfect for dining alfresco in the sunshine, along with an immaculate lawn.

The property is well-placed for exploring Bude, and is within walking distance of a host of shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants, as well as a lake and a golf course.

You will be spoilt for choice by three picturesque beaches, including Crooklets Beach, which offers excellent surfing and Summerleaze Beach, which has rockpools to explore and beach huts, while Bude Sea Pool is a semi-natural sea pool that's popular for swimming and paddleboarding.

Enjoy visiting Bude's attractions, which includes a 19th century castle with a history museum, art gallery & cafe, and the magnificent South West Coast Path runs right through the town, ideal for walkers wanting to explore the coastline in either direction.

Head north along the Hartland Cornwall Heritage Coast to find a collection of unspoiled, cliff-backed beaches, and continue towards Devon's Hertiage Coast and the picturesque village of Clovelly, with its museums, stunning waterfall, idyllic harbour and family-friendly beach.

Venture south towards Pentire Point, and along the way you will discover Boscastle and its waterfall, plus the fascinating Museum of Witchcraft and Magic, along with the National Trust's Rocky Valley, St Nectan's Glen nature reserve, along with Tintagel's legendary castle, which was the birthplace of King Arthur, Merlin's Cave and the National Trust's Glebe Cliff.

Awel-Y-Mor is a wonderful, family-friendly base from which to discover North Cornwall's stunning coastline.

About the location

BUDE

Tintagel 17 miles.

Bude is a fabulous coastal town that once visited you will want to come back to time and time again. Bude has something for everyone, great beaches for relaxing, and building sandcastles on, rockpools for investigating at low tide and cafes to watch it all from. The rolling waves are great for surfing all year round, and the footpaths by the restored canal or on the North Cornwall coastal path offer you a superb opportunity to explore and appreciate the outstanding countryside. Bude also has a superb golf course, indoor swimming pool, bowling alley/indoor play area and Heritage Centre at Bude Castle. It also has a good selection of local shops, supermarkets, cafes, pubs, restaurants and excellent Information Centre. Within a short drive are the remains of a huge iron age hill fort at Warbstow Bury, from where panoramic views can be seen. For days out, take the coast road north to see the lonely lighthouse above the sea at Hartland Point or walk or ride a donkey down the steep and cobbled village street (no cars allowed) of beautiful Clovelly to the harbour and the pub far below. Follow the coast in the other direction and there's the little cove of Crackington Haven, Boscastle, King Arthur's castle at Tintagel, Doc Martin's Port Wenn at Port Isaac and yet more great surfing beaches at Polzeath.

Note: Zip link room is set up as a twin by default, please contact the owners in advance should you wish this room to be set up as a super king double.

Note: This property is best suited for up to 4 adults and 2 children or 5 adults only.
