    Our. Directions said to look out for wrought iron sign - unfortunately this was hidden by bins so we all missed it and had to hunt. Some of the doors looking out over the sea were very heavy to manage and would have been impossible for some people, also due to the way they open the carpets are getting wrecked, It was great to have three separate sitting areas in the house. Some of the doors looking out over the sea were very heavy to manage and would have been impossible for some people, also due to the way they open the carpets are getting wrecked, It was great to have three separate sitting areas in the house. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. I was useful having three outside doors that could be unlocked from the outside as the meant each couple could come and go independently rather than having to battle with the awful key safe each day. The en-suites were all working well and quite newly installed I would think. The main bedroom was comfortable but would have benefitted by having a set of draws for storage (I used my suitcase). I would have liked to have a window that could be left open at night as I felt it was not safe leaving the doors open. The other couples reported that the beds were not comfortable with one of them against a wall which meant disturbance if someone needed to get out of bed in the night. The house is starting to look ‘tired’ but I guess it is the end of the season nearly. I noticed that some of the concrete steps leading down to the house are starting to crumble so could be a hazard in the future as could the fact that there was no working outside light meaning that we needed to use torch lights on our mobile phones to ensure we came down safely. (A light that comes on automatically when sensing when people are coming down the steps would be sensible.). Awnings at the back upstairs would be beneficial as with sun shining on the house made it like a hothouse. The tiles on the upstairs balcony area were loose (another potential hazard).

    The owners are happy that you enjoyed your stay. We regret that the cleaner accidently switched off the automatic light switch outside which normally functions. The bins do not usually cover the wrought iron sign, so we are sorry if this delayed your finding the property. The key safe was installed recently by key safe specialists.The wardrobe in the main bedroom includes 2 drawers, a shelf and shoe shelves. The house was painted in January and the twin beds had new mattresses for the season. Bed comfort is a matter of preference but the owners will be trying the beds to see if any other amendments are necessary. The bathroom windows open if additional ventilation is required.The tiles on the balcony were repaired in January and will be checked again during our off season maintenance. Owner relations

In a spectacular location above the beach at Downderry, 300 yards from the village centre, a large detached modern seaside home with uninterrupted panoramic sea views from every room over the bay from Rame Head to Polperro and beyond.

The south-facing interior is light and spacious and the upside down layout makes the most of the views.

Floor-to-ceiling windows/doors frame fabulous sunsets: upstairs they open to a glass balustrade and sea-facing balcony (table/chairs), downstairs to width-of-house conservatory and small terrace, beyond which, an enclosed, Mediterranean-style garden, prettily planted and dotted with palms, with level lawn and sheltered paved terrace (table/chairs).From street-level parking area, steps down to front door to hall.

Superb open-plan kitchen/dining room (dishwasher, washer-drier, microwave, freezer, fridge, electric double oven/induction hob, TV) with central island/breakfast bar with 4 stools, long dining table and rattan sofa/chairs for 6, all positioned for the views in front of ceiling-high glazed bi-fold doors to balustrade and sliding glazed doors to balcony; side door to 14 steps down to garden and terrace.

Along the hall, both with sliding glazed doors to balcony, light-filled living room with leather sofas/chairs for 7, woodburner and TV, and study/second living room, desk, TV/DVD.

Also on this level, neat shower-room (suite).

Stairs (top stairgate) down to lower ground floor and four large bedrooms, all facing the sea (views) - the master double (5' bed, TV) with en suite shower-room (suite with double shower cubicle) and bi-fold doors to small terrace (table/chairs for 2, steps down to garden), and, all with glazed doors and step down to the conservatory (door to garden), two further smart doubles (one with access to one side of bed only), both with en suite shower-rooms (suites), and a twin (footboards).

Back door to paved path to garden.

A superbly positioned, spacious seaside home with unrivaled views along the stunning Cornish coast.

DOWNDERRY

Looe 6 miles; Liskeard 10 miles; Polperro 11 miles; Plymouth 18 miles.

Downderry is a small quiet coastal village situated in south east Cornwall. Downderry has a sheltered beach, Post Office and shop, deli, and a cliff top pub and an excellent restaurant, serving quality local food. At low tide it is possible to walk along the beach from Downderry to Seaton, where you will find a family friendly south facing beach and the nearby Seaton Valley Countryside Park and Nature reserve is home to wildlife, including otters and kingfishers and also offers great cycling and walking opportunities. The picturesque working harbours at Looe and Polperro are within an easy driving distance away, and the wonderful stretches of the South West Coast Path in this part of Cornwall take you to rocky coves, dramatic headlands and tales of shipwrecks and smugglers. Further afield is Plymouth, where you will find plenty to see and do, including a marine aquarium, a theatre, large shopping centres and the historic Barbican waterside area.
