The Property

About 80 yards up from Whitsand Bay beach by steep coastal path, a detached single-storey chalet with sensational views right out to sea (no one in front). Enclosed decking surrounds it (picnic table) with space at the back for storing surfboards etc.
Door to simple, uncluttered open-plan living/dining/kitchen (small fridge-freezer, electric cooker) with TV/DVD and space for coats/boots. Two bedrooms (no clothes-hanging space) - a double, and a children's bunk room (5'9" by 2'6" beds); shower-room (suite). Free off-road parking, 250 yards via gravel cliff footpath/steps. Best for maximum of 2 adults/2 children. Just right for surfers, beach-lovers, walkers.

Whitsand Bay: 5 miles of sand and rocks, uncrowded because no roads to the shore, between Rame Head and Portwrinkle. Cliffs slope down to the beach, with chalets in places, including Tregonhawke (acclaimed restaurant, beach café) and Freathy (playing field/tennis court, buses to foot ferry to Plymouth from Cremyll) hamlets. Good surfing; HMS Scylla (sunk for marine research) attracts divers. Beach fishing; coarse fishing nearby. Cliff-top golf. Coastal walks. Millbrook, 1 mile; Kingsand/Cawsand, 2.

Regional Information

WHITSAND BAY Torpoint 5 miles. Set in a bowl of hills at the head of a tidal creek that leads to the Hamoaze, opposite the great naval city of Plymouth, Millbrook is located on the Rame Peninsula, "Cornwall's Forgotten Corner". Bounded by the Lynher and Tamar rivers, the Hamoaze and the sea, the area is deeply rural and designated as one of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village has a good range of shops and pubs, while close by are the pretty coastal villages of Kingsand and Cawsand, from which a ferry will take you to Plymouth. Along the southern edges of the peninsula are miles of beautiful walks with glorious views of Rame Head. Just a mile south of Millbrook lies Whitsand Bay with its miles of uncrowded sandy RNLI patrolled beach and dramatic cliffs. A superb base for discovering the wild side of Cornwall.
