  • “We had a lovely weeks stay at The Boathouse and can not fault the cleanliness and facilities of the property.”

The kitchen is very well stocked, there was nothing we would have needed. The cream tea on arrival and fresh flowers were a lovely touch. The bathroom, although small, had a lovely large powerful shower which was very welcomed. The owner emailed while we were there to make sure everything was satisfactory. ...

The kitchen is very well stocked, there was nothing we would have needed. The cream tea on arrival and fresh flowers were a lovely touch. The bathroom, although small, had a lovely large powerful shower which was very welcomed. The owner emailed while we were there to make sure everything was satisfactory. One area that does let the property down is the outside space - the listing states there’s a garden/patio but what it doesn’t say is it’s on the gravel driveway in the front garden. There is nowhere private to sit. It is a private estate so there is no through traffic, but not somewhere you’d want to sit in your pjs with a morning cuppa - residents were coming and going as were a few delivery vans. There were some wooden chairs to sit on but no table if you ever wanted to eat outside. The property is also quite dark as there were no low level windows to look out of. There are French windows in the bedroom, but again, they face the front of the property and the car parking, so we always felt we wanted them closed so that people couldn’t see in. This was the same for the main living area, the front door is all glass, but again faces the road so we kept it closed as you have to walk through the kitchen/living area from the bathroom to the bedroom and when the lights were on, which they always were because it was dark, you could see right into the living space. Overall, we did enjoy our stay, and if you don’t want any down time in a private garden in between days out, then this property is ideal.

About the location

MULLION

Helston 5 miles; Lizard Point 5.5 miles.

Mullion is a large village on the Lizard Peninsula, five miles south of Helston and just over five miles from Lizard Point, the most southerly tip of mainland Britain. The village is home to a selection of popular restaurants, shops and pubs, Mullion Meadows Chocolate Factory and coffee shop, as well as Mullion Cove, a pretty working harbour. Helston is a pleasant busy market town famous for its Flora Day Festival and the many stories and legends about the "Furry Dance" are told in the fascinating Helston Folk Museum. Nearby is the Poldark Mine, one of the best underground experiences in the south west and which tells of the widespread mining heritage of this area. Further afield is the harbour town of Falmouth to the east and Land's End to the west. Mullion is a wonderful holiday destination offering plenty of attractions for the whole family.

Note: No children or infants.
