    “WOW what a hidden gem.”

Perfect perfect perfect. The minute we walked in we felt at home. The owners David and Sue kept in regular contact before and after the holiday. The garden is very secure and great for children and dogs. Loads of utensils, pans and crockery in the kitchen. Bedding immaculate. Dog walks from outside the cottage. Very quiet location. Beaches a short drive away. Dog tags left to use with David’s contact details on which was a nice touch. Good WIFi. Board games, CD,s and DVD’s all supplied ...

Good WIFi. Board games, CD,s and DVD’s all supplied although we took out Alexa device and Firestick. The log burner was just what we wanted. I want to go back in 2024 and take my parents but they are already very booked up and I understand why. If I win the lottery I will be making David and Sue an offer to purchase that they just cannot refuse. We came away very relaxed and left very reluctantly. A big thank you to David and Sue for allowing us to use their beautiful home.

The property

About a mile from Morwenstow's excellent pub and award-winning tea rooms, a detached cottage, recently renovated and made smart.

It faces its enclosed lawned garden with meadows and two other dwellings beyond.

Just over ½ mile of footpath leads to the Coast Path and Stanbury Mouth cove (rocky path down to beach - not for the faint-hearted, but great surfing). From garden, door to open-plan living/dining room with woodburner and TV/DVD.

Galley kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer, electric cooker/separate hob), through to utility room (for drying dogs, surfing/walking gear) with washing machine and loo.

Two ground floor bedrooms - a double (5' bed), and a twin.

Stairs from living room up to another double bedroom (5' bed) with high beamed ceiling to the apex and en suite bathroom (suite plus hand-shower); shower-room (suite).

A fantastic place to relax, unwind, find great surfing coves or just walk to the pub by footpath (remember torch!). Morwenstow: high hamlet with fascinating church (legendary 19th century vicar), good food pub, acclaimed tea rooms, at the head of a combe to the sea (cliffs).

Close to the highest cliffs in Cornwall (good walking, birdwatching).

National Trust owned cove beach, 2½ miles.

Good pony-trekking nearby; Bude, 7 miles.

The Tamara Way, a 87 miles coast to coast walking route, pass near Salty Cottage, The starting point of this amazing nature filled track is located in Morwenstow, around 1 mile away from the cottage.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £100.

About the location

MORWENSTOW

Kilkhampton 6 miles; Bude 10 miles.
