“The only slight thing to reference would be that we had 6 staying in accommodation for 8, yet we all experienced a cold shower, even though the showers are electric.”

Although not a major issue for us, not ideal for my parents staying with us whom are in their 70’s and 80’s.

Although not a major issue for us, not ideal for my parents staying with us whom are in their 70’s and 80’s. Other than that everything was fantastic and we would definitely stay at Shorelodge again....

We are glad that you all had a fantastic holiday and would like to return to Shore Lodge again. The hot water for the showers is actually heated by the gas boiler which is set up to provide enough for showers for 8 people at the times of day when they are most likely to be taken. Additionally there are instructions in the house how to operate the boiler to obtain more hot water whenever it is needed. Owner relations

The property

In Padstow, 350 yards up from the pretty harbour front, a handsome, early Victorian, semi-detached house on three floors, with typical lofty ceilings, huge windows and generous-sized rooms.Several pubs, bars and restaurants within 1/4 mile of the front door!

In front is a paved parking area (rare in this narrow-streeted village) measuring 6.4 metres in length and, at the back, a neat enclosed garden (table/chairs, barbecue) on two levels (2 steps).

Hall.

Big kitchen/dining room (dishwasher, microwave, larder fridge, electric range-style cooker with gas hob) with table/chairs in middle, TV and utility area with washing machine, tumble drier and fridge-freezer.

South-facing living room looking to gravelled patio area, with big bay windows letting in lots of light, TV/DVD.

Loo.

Stable doors and 5 steps down to the garden.

Stairs up to the first floor and two double bedrooms, one with glimpse of the Camel estuary across rooftops; big bathroom (suite with separate shower).

More stairs up to top floor with two more bedrooms - a twin (footboards) with long, pretty views, and one with two singles; shower-room (suite).

A lovely family house away from the bustle.

Padstow: very attractive old small harbour town (excellent restaurants, Rick Stein's base) on the River Camel's sandy estuary.

Many fine beaches very close and headlands for walking; sea birds.

Pedestrian ferry to Rock (watersports, sailing school) and very good golf course (St Enodoc).
