  • “We arrived at the property after driving for 7 hours.”

We began to look around the house only to find a half pint of used milk in the fridge, one piece of toilet roll in each toilet, a used razor in the en suite shower, dead flies on every windowsill, stains on the bed and an overall bad smell - to the point where all of our clothes smelt when we arrived home. If you were to touch any of the carpets, your hand would have a layer of hair on it. We tried to iron our clothes, however the iron let out a stench of fish so bad it filled the house and ...

We tried to iron our clothes, however the iron let out a stench of fish so bad it filled the house and left our clothes fishy. The neighbours were unwelcoming by giving bad looks every time we left the property. The beds in the twin rooms were too uncomfortable for us to sleep in as the springs would drive into your back. We were left with no cleaning products, not even disinfectant spray which we 100% needed. The decor is so outdated and the house is just overall filthy. As a young group we are usually able to see past a bit of dirty however this was as if the only cleaning done here was a quick change of towels, baring in mind we paid £1000 for this holiday. Upon leaving, we tidied every single room, cleared the fridge and freezer, took out all of the recycling and even stripped the beds, yet I received a rude text at midnight from the owner stating how unhappy he was and demanding £30 from us as the cleaner had to stay extra time to apparently clean our "mess". The only positive I have from this holiday is being out of this house and on Fistral beach with my friends.

Thank you for your feedback. We are happy to hear you enjoyed a nice holiday with a group of friends. We have been informed by the housekeeping team that you checked in before 3 pm, while the cleaning was still in progress. After being approached by the team you confirmed everything was fine throughout the property and you were happy. We confirm the property is always cleaned with care and attention. We confirm all issues reported have been rectified and the property has had continuous maintenance. Regarding the iron unfortunately the bad smell happens when it is used with a too hot temperature on synthetic materials. The neighbours did complain about the noise so this might have been the reason for the less friendly approach. The additional cleaning fee had to be added because the housekeeping team had to take additional care in the deep clean of the property after your departure. 18 Polvella Close is always ready for more amazing holidays Property Owner
