“The annexe was very dark owing to the hedge outside front door and required lighting on permenantly.”

My sister in laws bedroom wardrobe was a storage room for cleaning equipment with shelves for clothing and smelled damp. It was awkward to use patio chairs as they were outside the owners lounge window and very intrusive. The walk into penzance was horrendous we had to cross the A30 lands end road to a alleyway and about another mile further on to town. Given the fact my sister in law and I are both in our 70s it was quite a journey. It was never mentioned it was a very narrow lane riddled with pot holes we had to manoeuvre and no turning points. If it wasn't for the very kind gentleman up the lane allowing us to turn on his drive it would have been very difficult. The hosts were very friendly but again we rarely saw them. Again we only had one very small bath towel and one hand towel each for the week and resorted to using our beach towels.

Thank you very much for taking the time to send us your feedback. We're very sorry to hear that the property wasn't quite right for you and do hope that overall, you had a good holiday. The owners are also sad to hear your comments and have asked us to post the following to help future visitors: "Amarrah is set in beautiful woodlands in the Penzance countryside, the trees alongside the waterfall and stream which runs parallel to the front of the annexe do at certain times of the day shade this aspect of the property. Being in the countryside, the access to the property is down a short country lane, which has a turning point just past the property on the bridge. The walk into Penzance is again mostly through tree lined lanes and streets, the walk to the promenade is along “Love Lane’ which follows the river to the sea, through the woods and past the wild-flower park. Had additional towels been requested they would have been supplied. Yes the walk in wardrobe in the inner bedroom does also house the airer and vacuum, as well as plenty of hanging and shelf space. There is a section of the garden just in front of the annex which is purely for the use of Amarrah, this is nowhere near the owner’s lounge which is on the other side of the property, we always respect guest privacy when they use Amarrah’s garden." About the location

PENZANCE

St Ives 8 miles.

One of Cornwall’s most popular holiday areas. The spectacular sweep of Mount’s Bay, from the cliffside fishing village of Mousehole through Penzance and around to beautiful Marazion, hides a wealth of sandy beaches, rocky coves, winding village streets and other places to visit and explore. Connected by causeway to the shore at Marazion is the National Trust’s stunningly beautiful St Michael’s Mount with its hilltop castle and Mediterranean gardens. Walk across at low water and take one of the ferry boats back when the tide is up. Penzance with its winding streets, shops, clubs, restaurants and harbour is a must as is the jumping-off point for day trips to the Scilly Isles. The South West Coast Path passing through Penzance winds its way along the clifftops towards Land’s End. On the way, stop off for a coffee and a rest at beautiful Lamorna Cove, explore the open air Minack Theatre and marvel at the cliffs as you approach Gwennap Head. A stunning walk for those seeking solitude, exercise and some of the UK’s best coastal scenery. Penzance is the perfect holiday base. Ideally placed for exploring this land of Celtic myth and legend and with enough to do and see in the immediate area to keep all the family occupied.
