“Stunning. Everything well labeled and documented.”

No issues, except which chippie to choose. I'll be back.

The property

About 250 yards up from the harbour in Port Isaac, a delightfully restored, semi-detached, three-storey cottage.

Long, enclosed, sloping garden (picnic table, bench) with sea views reached via steep steps (small children beware) and, a bonus in Port Isaac, forecourt parking for one car (additional public car park parking nearby).

Sunny living room with bay window (sea view), pretty Victorian open fireplace and smart TV/DVD; archway to kitchen/dining room (dishwasher, microwave, electric cooker, larder fridge) with slate floor; hall (washing machine, tumble drier, freezer); shower-room (suite); door to steps (narrow, handrail) to garden.

Stairs up to two bedrooms - a twin, and a large double with countryside views; bathroom (suite).

Further steep stairs (handrail) up to top floor and two more bedrooms - a single (lovely sea views) and a double, both with dormer windows.

A good cottage within a stroll of the lovely harbour, with the great benefit of parking too. Port Isaac: exceptionally pretty fishing village (shops, pubs, restaurants), setting for the ‘Doc Martin’ series, on a steep hillside round a natural harbour between cliffs (low tide beach, rock pools).

Spectacular coastal walks.

Port Gaverne (cove beach), ½ mile.

St Endellion, 1 mile.

Port Quin (beautiful ‘fjord’, spectacular walks), 2½.

Polzeath (splendid sand/surf) and Rock (watersports, golf), 5.

About the location

PORT ISAAC

Polzeath 6.5 miles; Padstow 16 miles

Port Isaac; one of the true Cornish treasures. A beautiful fishing village nestling in a steep sided valley, the old village in the valley remains unchanged from its days of fishing, slate export and smuggling in the previous century. An abundance of small character properties complemented by larger cliff-top retreats, can be found with easy access to the numerous restaurants and shops of the village. The sandy harbour provides an abundance of rock pools as the tide retreats. There is ample parking at the top of the village and the village is a popular tourist destination with plenty of attractions including the dramatic Doyden Castle, the beautiful Lundy Bay and the famous Doc Martin's clinic. There are also plenty of pubs, restaurants, and shops in the village. Just a short drive from the beaches of Polzeath, Daymer and Rock, it is perfect for romantic and family holidays alike.
