  • “Two acres was spacious, comfortable and the location was perfect being within walking distance to port Issac and with spectacular views.”

The cupboards in the kitchen were well stocked with everything you could possible need on a self catering holiday. Cleanliness is a personal preference and although the cottage was clean there were a few areas that personally were not as clean as I would have accepted like dirty light switches and door handles, both I found myself wiping down and if the weather had been better I would be in the garden pulling up weeds but that's just me. Also, we both found the sofa had no support and maybe would need replacing. Other than that our stay was excellent

The property

½ mile up from Port Isaac’s picture-postcard harbour, with long views over meadows to the coast, a large detached bungalow surrounded by mostly lawned garden (table/chairs).

For the reasonably fit, 200 yards to footpath down to village (remember torch!). Large hall.

Equally spacious living room with woodburner and TV/DVD.

Kitchen/dining room (dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, fridge-freezer, electric cooker) with patio doors to the garden.

Three bedrooms - a double (5' bed) with TV and en suite shower-room (suite), a twin, and a single; bathroom (suite, shower over bath).

Garage (tumble drier) for storing your surfboards and bicycles.

Suitable for wheelchair users (please discuss your requirements with us before booking).

A comfortable, convenient home to return to after a day exploring. Port Isaac: exceptionally pretty fishing village (shops, pubs, restaurants), setting for the ‘Doc Martin’ series, on a steep hillside round a natural harbour between cliffs (low tide beach, rock pools).

Spectacular coastal walks.

Port Gaverne (cove beach), ½ mile.

St Endellion, 1 mile.

Port Quin (beautiful ‘fjord’, spectacular walks), 2½.

Polzeath (splendid sand/surf) and Rock (watersports, golf), 5.

About the location

PORT ISAAC

Polzeath 6 miles; Padstow 9 miles

Port Isaac, one of the undiscovered treasures of Cornwall. A beautiful fishing village nestling in a steep sided valley, the old village in the valley remains unchanged from its days of fishing, slate export and smuggling in the previous century. An abundance of small character properties complemented by larger cliff-top retreats, can be found with easy access to the numerous restaurants and shops of the village. The sandy harbour provides an abundance of rock pools as the tide retreats. Only ten minutes drive from the beaches of Polzeath, Daymer and Rock, it is perfect for romantic and family holidays alike. There is ample parking at the top of the village or on the beach during the times displayed.
