The coves either side were accessible by foot for the fit and healthy, and were also stunning once you got down into them. A climb up the opposite ridge is worth doing for a surprising bit of history, and views of Watergate Bay can also be enjoyed. Really lovely! Unfortunately the property didn’t quite live up to expectations though. The decked walkway to the front door is loose and bouncy and does not feel safe, which was noted at the property by several previous guests. The room sizes, with the exception of the lovely master bedroom, were tiny and cramped with zero usable storage space. A chest of drawers in the twin room could not be used as they were too close to the end of the bed with no space to move them. Everyone had to use the master bedroom for accessible storage. The living area is functional but cramped with the dining table, so you have to manoeuvre yourself and the furniture to get access to the table. All the cupboards stick, including the integrated fridge which we had to keep checking had been pushed closed properly so food didn’t go off. The master bedroom was lovely and spacious but the en suite needs repairs to the bath edging, which was completely loose, plus the cleaning needs to be much better. However, if the property was freshened up a bit and the 2nd and third bedrooms were singles with storage instead of cramped double/twin without storage, my review would have been 10/10. All that being said, the location was central along the north coast, so perfect for exploring Cornwall by car, and we did have a fabulous holiday.

Stephen “A simply beautiful apartment with all the modern amenities that you would expect and more.”
A stunning location over looking the incoming and outgoing tide into Porth from a cliff top perspective. Ideal family holiday location, superb three bedroom property with a stunning master bedroom. Would love to return again in 2022.
- Stephen, September 2021Lesley “Despite the price increase of 50% the cleaning standards were very poor.”
. Filthy radiators in bathrooms.. Dirty floors and half a large broken glass was in dishwasher when we went to use it.. Decking into property very loose and dangerous it was loose last year but this year its scary to walk oon and feels like it could give way at any time.. Several other people commented on it on reviews.. Upon arrival cleaner had failed to leave key in correct Keysafe.. Was quite stressful start to the holidsy as no signal around property.. After 40 mins we did get thru to sykes who thankfully sorted it out.
- Lesley, September 2021Thank you for your feedback which we have discussed with the owner and who advises that although the decking needs replacing it is perfectly serviceable. It serves 7 properties, 5 of which are holiday lets. The deck entrance is the responsibility of the freeholder who has been approached regarding replacement and quotes are being obtained. Cleanliness issues have been bought to the attention of the housekeeper for which the owner was very apologetic and wishes you had made contact regarding this during your stay. Property Owner
Joanne “This house is absolutely beautiful !”
We had a very comfortable stay & the views are stunning! Would love to revisit another year.
- Joanne, August 2021Rose “The apartment was amazing!”
Such beautiful views and incredible sunsets. The decking area was great and the lounge/kitchen/rooms were wonderful. Really beautiful stay.
- Rose, July 2021Laura “This is the third time we stay in this property and this time we felt it wasn’t as sparkling clean as before, especially wooden floor.”
It has quite a lot of wear and tear and could do with freshening paint and upgrading toilet areas/ kitchen doors don’t close properly and the hot water in the sink is a hazard. The wooden decking to access the property is in such a poor condition that we were really worried it’d crack while passing specially when carrying suitcases. It will really hurt someone the day it breaks - something must be done about it. The whole section beeds repairing before someone is hurt !
- Laura, June 2021Joanne “The view without a doubt.”
THE best view of any place we’ve ever stayed. Lovely house. First visit to Cornwall for myself and my partner. Equipped with everything you need to cook anything from a fry up to a roast dinner !! Modern furnishing and really clean. Not much privacy on the back but the view would be obscured so completely understand but got to talk to some neighbours also on holiday and got some recommendations on places to visit. A bit difficult to find as not very well signposted etc but bumped into owners who helped us find the way. Already recommended and would definitely visit again. Just a shame there was still Covid restrictions meaning not much open indoors etc but found a lovely pub called farmers arms and food was lovely. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us. We really enjoyed our stay x
- Joanne, May 2021Shaun “The decking from car park to cottage could do with replacing .”
Fabulous views and a lovely place.
- Shaun, September 2020Lesley “House exceeded our expectations.”
. Photos do not do it justice. Far reaching views over sea from patio.. Plenty of lovely garden furniture and bbq.. House very spacious especially master bedroom. Lovely hamper awaited us on arrival..car park at the very back so no road noise at all.. Everything was perfect.. We have booked again for next year..
- Lesley, September 2020Jonny “Property fantastic.”
While on holiday you helped deal quickly with a small issue with the boiler, however your communication prior to the holiday was poor. Although I received some standard email instructions there were a few queries I needed answering, I appreciate you are busy due to Covid 19, however I have still not received an answer to an email request I sent you a few weeks ago regarding possible VAT refund.
- Jonny, July 2020Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback, we are pleased to hear you enjoyed your visit to The West Country. I can see that 1 of our customer support team has now spoken to you in relation to your VAT question. Property Owner
Daniel “The cottage was appalling for the money we spent.”
It was not clean, it lacked equipment, garden chairs were rotting and falling apart, the BBQ was dirty, rusty and broken Really, really disappointed.
- Daniel, July 2019John “Great accommodation, well located with all the facilities we needed.”
- John, June 2019Jann “This place is absolutely amazing.”
The view is incredible, we absolutely loved it. The house itself is done up nicely. Lovely interior, nice bedrooms and bathrooms. Fully equipt with everything you would need for a vacation. Perfect for 4-5 people, more than that will be tight due to the size of the bedrooms and kitchen table. Located perfect between two beaches within a 5 minute walk each. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
- Jann, June 2019Diane “In general, the property itself is nice with exceptional views of Porth beach but too small for 6 people.”
The downstairs bedroom barely fits a double bed in with a tiny cupboard for storage. Whilst overall the cleanliness was acceptable, the bathrooms, particularly the floors, were very poor. The main en-suite floor in particular had piles of fluff, dust and hairs in the back corners, obviously not mopped, but luckily we had brought slippers! The apartment is in the grounds of a hotel whose grounds are very rundown. The path from the car park to the apartment is decked and much of it is rotting and broken and generally unkempt. The hotel gym is small and poorly equipped with much of the equipment being old and broken yet you will be charged £5 a time to use it. We didn’t use the pool as it was small and enclosed with no natural light and not at all inviting but some children seemed to be enjoying it. We did enjoy the apartment but won,t be returning.
- Diane, June 2019Laura “Great Location and views.”
Loved the Decoration. Bed Mattrees in the main bedroom wasn't very comfortable.
- Laura, May 2019Claire “A beautiful cottage with incredible views.”
Well equipped with excellent facilities. A great location with an easy walk to great pubs and restaurants. We had a wonderful stay.
- Claire, April 2019Martin “What a fantastic little house, perched high up on a cliff with fabulous views of the coastline.”
Beautifully prepared and spotlessly clean. Previous reviews mention the terrace is overlooked by adjoining properties (true) and a small third bedroom (true) but these minor issues were far outweighed by the quality and location of this wonderful property. Compliments to the owners. We will definitely return.
- Martin, March 2019David “Fantastic”
- David, December 2018A “This apartment is too small for 6 people.”
Take a close look at the photos: 11 The table is right against the bench hence impossible to sit on and in spite of this there is practically no space between the table and the settee. 12 You no longer see the settee as it has been pushed aside to give an impression of space. 16 Look at the size of the bedside table and the closeness of the beds to the walls. 17 Take note of the size of the cupboard door and the closeness of the bed to the wall. The size of the ground floor double bed-room is mind blowing:approximately 5.5 sq. m. containing a double bed of 2.88 sq.m.,that leaves you 30cms on either side of the bed. If anything gets under the bed good luck! There is a very small wall cupboard (see photo17) to keep your clothes in and it has a damp patch on the ceiling. On each side of the bed there is a small shelf of 20.x25 cms to use as a bedside table! The upstairs twin bedded room and its en suite shower room are also very small, there is a chest of drawers at the foot of one of the beds however, opening the drawers is difficult due to lack of space . There are wooden drawers on casters under each bed to try to compensate the lack of a wardrobe. Moving around the living area downstairs is difficult due to lack of space, there is only 40cms between the table and the back of the settee. The kitchenette is well equipped but lacks sufficient ustensils( saucepans etc) to make a meal for six. The nonstick saucepans are in a very poor state ,extreemly bad for your health! The kitchenette is above the dining table which you need to go down three steps to reach. I can but congratulate the photographer, whom I presume used a wide angle lense in order to give a false impression of the size of the apartment. Access to the property is via a wooden staircase of approximately 30 steps plus a wooden platform, the last two steps are 27 cms and 30cms respectively and there is no hand rail whatsoever! This access is very badly lit at night and there is no over head light above the front door. This means the use of the key safe with its four digit code is impossible at night . There is only one key, so due to the previous comments, this means it is impossible for two people to go out unless they remain together. The cleanliness of the property was not up to scratch. The property did not exactly give onto the access to the private beach which was down a long narrow sloping path. However, the master bedroom with its en suite bathroom was pleasant and large but this was detremental to the size of all the other rooms. Were two couples to go to this apartement it is obvious that those who drew the short straw and had the downstairs double room would be very hard done by compared to those who had the master suite. The location and views are magnificent but the patio is north facing and lacks any privacy due to the proximity of neighbours on both sides of it.
- A, September 2018Many thanks for your feedback, we have fed your comments back to the owner in order to maintain our property standards. Your views are as valued as your initial booking so that we can keep providing the best UK holiday experience. I can see we have spoken to you about the mentioned issues and the complaint has been resolved. Property Owner
Mary “Lovely cottage with great views”
- Mary, September 2018Lynne “Cottage is well equipped and in a lovely location.”
The pictures you advertise do however make it look like it is on its own when in fact there are close neighbours either side, especially noticeable when on the terrace. The downstairs bedroom is advertised as snug but is manageable, however there is a lack of wardrobe space also in the twin bedroom. We did have an enjoyable holiday despite these minor criticisms.
- Lynne, June 2018Joanna “We had such a great time at Seascape - the cottage was perfect & so beautifully decorated.”
It really felt like a home from home & we loved staying there. Location wise was super with 2 gorgeous beaches within walking distance & further lovely beaches & things to do within 30 mins. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage & will look to return in the future.
- Joanna, May 2018Tasmine “We thought that this was a fabulous cottage.”
The furnishings were classy and made for a gorgeous house that we really enjoyed staying in. The views were fantastic and we really enjoyed the cream tea on arrival.

I would recommend this property to anybody and we all had a great holiday.
