The property

The Sail Loft is a wonderful retreat in the heart of seaside St Ives, just moments from a choice of beaches, tempting eateries and huge variety of galleries and shops.

Once used by fishermen to store their sails this cottage has been carefully and beautifully converted to create a contemporary living space suitable for families and couples alike.

From the lane, 7 stone steps lead down to a comfortable and well-equipped fitted kitchen with large dining table to gather around at mealtimes.

At the opposite end of the room there’s comfy sofas and an electric woodburner-effect fire plus TV/DVD; Also on this floor a pretty twin bedroom (linkable to make a 6’ double).

Open tread wooden stairs lead up from the dining area to two further bedrooms – both light and airy doubles plus a family bathroom (suite).

There’s an additional wet room with loo by the entrance perfect for washing off sandy bodies.

The Sail Loft really is in the heart of St Ives.

You can drive right up to the cottage to unload and load your car and there's a reserved parking space within a 20 minute walk (at the Rugby Club car park).

Those familiar with St Ives will know this is a bonus as spaces in the municipal car parks can be hard to find.

Once parked, it's easily possible to enjoy a car-free holiday as there is so much to see and do close by, regardless of the weather.

You could surf at Porthmeor or enjoy the water sports at Porthminster beach or take a stroll along the outstanding coast path.

The choice of galleries and shops in St Ives will keep even the most avid shopper occupied and for foodies there’s a range of places to suit all budgets and tastes.

The Sail Loft makes an ideal base in this fantastic town at any time of year.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £100.

About the location

ST IVES

Penzance 6 miles.

One of Cornwall's prettiest harbour towns, St Ives offers narrow streets, tight-packed cottages nestling around the quayside, the Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth museum, fabulous beaches, superb shops, a thriving community of artists, great pubs and restaurants and much more. With its semi Bohemian lifestyle and romantic air, it's easy to see why this is the county's premier holiday resort. The surrounding area has much for the visitor to see and do with abundant wildlife, fabulous coastal walks, top quality surfing and the Celtic mysteries of the Land's End Peninsula are all within easy reach. A superb destination!
