“We spent a lovely week at Agar Cottage.”

The cottage is comfortable and provides everything you could need. Trelights is a Lovely peaceful village close to Port Isaac which is beautiful. We were able to visit many places during our stay. Tintagel, Boscastle, Truro, Falmouth, Polzeath which has a great flat sandy beach and many amenities. We also paid a visit to Healy's cyder museum which is about an hour away but well worth a visit. The owners called in to see how our week was going which was really nice. They were really freindly. I would recommend the cottage and we hope to visit again in the future. Thank you for a lovely week.

The property

In Trelights, a semi-detached 400-year-old cottage, once the village forge when it formed part of the vast Lanhydrock estate, now a much loved, well-equipped retreat.

At the back, enclosed, sheltered courtyard (table/chairs, barbecue) with 13 steps up to sun deck (bench) and, across the lane, a lawned, enclosed sunny garden (table/chairs).

Inside, surprisingly spacious with plenty of charm.

From the lane, door into large living room with woodburner, TV/DVD and wood/slate floor at one end, and at the other end a lovely old settle (reputedly made for occupants long ago).

Step up to open-plan kitchen/dining room with brick floor, conservatory one end and utility room the other (dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier, microwave, fridge-freezer, electric cooker) with back door to courtyard.

Ground-floor shower-room (suite, large cubicle).

Open tread stairs (stairgates) from living room up to three bedrooms - a double (5' bed), step up to a twin, and another small twin; big bathroom (suite with separate shower).

Ready meals available.

Well-equipped and homely. Trelights: sleepy hamlet (good hotel restaurant) about a mile from the magnificent Coast Path.

Port Quin’s fine rocky, sandy cove, about 1¼ miles; the pretty fishing villages of Port Isaac and Port Gaverne, about 2.

More great beaches at Daymer Bay, Polzeath and Rock, 5.

Farm shop/tea room/restaurant/seasonal fruit picking/children's play area (open February to December), 1 mile.

Port Isaac, one of the undiscovered treasures of Cornwall. A beautiful fishing village nestling in a steep sided valley, the old village in the valley remains unchanged from its days of fishing, slate export and smuggling in the previous century
