  • “The cottage was in an ideal location with a sea view and right on the SW Coastal Path only 30mins walk to Lands End or a 7 mile walk the other way to Cape Cornwall.”

The bedroom was comfortable but you had to open the internal shutters to get access to the wardrobe on the window side. There was plenty of space to store your clothes. The bench outside the main door was ideal to sit and have an evening drink and watch the sun set over the cliff. We encountered a storm on the last night which kept us awake due to one of the outside shutters being slightly loose and shuddering against the bedroom wall , this needs fixing.

The property

Wildly romantic with stunning views of the surf and the soothing sounds of the sea, this charming bolt-hole is seriously special.

Perched on the edge of the pretty cove, golden sands and blue Flag beach at Sennen Cove it makes the perfect retreat whatever the season.

Sennen is a mecca for surfers of all abilities and this fabulous beach is also perfect for swimmers and sunbathers with the assurance of the RNLI Lifeguards in the summer and the great Surf School in situ.

The stunning coastal footpath passes the property; in one direction is the amazing cliff top walk to Lands End and the other leads to the dramatic scenery of Cape Cornwall.

If you are lucky you can spot dolphins, the odd seal and basking shark along with the quaint fishing boats.

Loaded with lobster and crab the delicious sea food can be sampled at the local pub or the popular Beach Restaurant a few minutes walk away. Well presented, this charming property dates back to the early 1800's and used to supply water to the adjoining cottages.

The ground floor is home to a smart galley kitchen and a comfortable and contemporary open plan living space complete with a wood burner to snuggle up to whilst overlooking the mesmerising view of the Atlantic.

Step downstairs to the lower ground floor and the cosy bedroom awaits you with a king size bed and your en-suite shower room. The Minack Theatre at Porthcurno, a spectacular open-air theatre set into the cliff face with the sea as a dramatic backdrop, is within a 10 minute drive.

You will find St Ives, famous for the many amazing galleries (including the Tate Gallery) and well renowned restaurants 15 miles away along one of the most magical coast roads in the country. Sip something cool paces from the dazzling sea, whilst casting your gaze to the gorgeous Isles of Scilly.

On a clear day the Islands can be spotted 26 miles away- or jump on a plane from Lands End Airport 5 minutes away and experience the romantic Islands for yourself.

About the location

Land’s End 1 mile; St Just 5 miles; Penzance 9 miles.

The most westerly village in mainland Britain, Sennen has a lovely mile-long beach of pure white sand and is a very popular holiday destination. With excellent surfing conditions, the village has its own surf school – overlooked by a super-cool beach bar/restaurant with floor-to-ceiling windows which make the most of the wonderful views. Once a hub of smuggling activity, Sennen still retains many secret passages – one of which is said to lead to the covered well in the Old Success Inn. Largely unchanged over time, this lovely village has a timeless appeal and is home to a gallery, a medieval church, an Iron Age fort and a small selection of shops where you can buy beachware, gifts and souvenirs, and a range of groceries. There is also a weekly Farmers’ Market in the village Community Centre each Tuesday morning. During the summer, the beach bar becomes a hub of activity and entertainment, with live music, weekly barbecues and popular surfing competitions.

Note: Babes in arms welcome. Note: No cot or highchair provided.
Access: A very short section of footpath and then approximately 12 uneven granite steps, can be slippery when wet. Please bring a torch if arriving after dark.
