“One of the most important part of a holiday is the accommodation, as you need to be able to relax and sleep well, the Roundhouse was perfect for us.”

On our arrival we were greeted by the owner Sue who was very welcoming, providing fresh flowers around the house, a lovely homemade cake, 4 pints of fresh milk and an array of tea and coffee. The house is beautiful, extremely well looked after, very clean, very comfortable, with a well equipped kitchen. Set within the rolling hillside, the house is located well for visiting many attractions, including the Eden Project. Thank you Sue and Garath for contributing to a wonderful holiday.

It had everything we needed and more. The things like dishwasher tablets, washing liquid and of course the delicious homemade cake were just fantastic. The house was really clean and furnished to a high standard. We will definitely be returning but for longer next time!

Plenty of cutlery, crockery, bed lined etc in the property and all of very good quality. Useful location, a bit remote if you were a family trying to get to a beach , but brilliant for us to access all we wanted to see.

“We very much enjoyed our stay at the Roundhouse.”

The property is of a high standard, very clean, well maintained and equipped. The location is excellent if you want secluded and peaceful with some lovely walks from the doorstep. It is not on a working farm so no early morning wake up calls! Also central for easily reaching some major tourist sites. The owners were very helpful and thoughtful with homemade cake, flowers and tea/coffee supplies etc for our arrival. Lovely!

! The cottage is very well equipped and the owners are very friendly and welcoming, providing a lovely strawberry sponge cake at the start of the holiday. Very quiet, peaceful location, but less than 10 minutes drive from the A30 and other main roads making it easy to visit lots of locations across beautiful Cornwall

The location is rural but ideally located to travel to numerous places around Cornwall, the Victoria Inn is about 4 miles away, I would highly recommend it for a pub meal , overall we had a great stay and will definitely go back

“As stated on the house description, the location was very quiet and tucked away.”

Unless you’re a serious walker, it may not suit you as there are no shops, pubs etc close by. If you want to have stunning surroundings around you and blissful peace and quiet this place is definitely for you. We loved it. The tiny approach lane and narrow B road to use may not be good for the more nervous driver though. The Round House was absolutely lovely. The bedrooms were split on two levels, although the two small connecting stairways were easy to negotiate. The double en-suite shower room was fabulous with a top quality electric shower. The main bathroom, with shower over bath was also excellent and very spacious. The kitchen was huge and probably one of the best for equipment that I’ve ever stayed in. It had everything and more. It was a delight and so easy to do some cooking - if that’s your choice. The owner, Sue, was lovely. Very informative and helpful. She left some milk, tea, coffee and the most delicious homemade Victoria sponge wrapped in a large cake tin. Thank you, Sue, you’re an awesome cake maker! All cleaning products, cloths, toilet rolls, kitchen, foil etc, were there to use. The lounge was big, easily seat six people, with two sofas, plus a armchair. I can’t go on any more about the views from every window. Just breathtaking. The back garden is large and lawned; great for a kids game of football or badminton. Patio furniture was all in great order, and despite the windy and wet start of our week, we did manage to sit outside. All in all, we had a lovely week and can thoroughly recommend the Round House.

“The Round House and owner Sue was a fabulous find on the Sykes site.”

Sue was very helpful prior to our arrival and once there greeted us and showed us around. She had left a freshly baked cake, fresh flowers in several room, milk, tea, 3 types of coffee, hot chocolate and Ovaltine. There was plenty of toilet rolls, soap and cleaning products in the bathrooms and dish washer and washing machine detergent. Simple things that all mean a lot. Any nerves about the cleanliness of a holiday property during the Covid pandemic were quickly forgotten as the barn was spotless. It was also lovely and warm and the WIFI was great for our sons zoom calls. As for the location of the Round House it is situated down a quiet lane with lovely views and very central for lots of beaches, towns and other tourist attractions. We would definitely recommend staying at the Round House and hope to return soon.

“Very surprised at the presentation of the property, exactly what we were looking for, the property was set in a peaceful and quiet location away from all the main thoroughfares central to Cornwall and within easy reach of its attractions.”

The property owner was based in the neighboring property and when we did have a small technical issue they were only to happy to assist straight away. As a family of 6 adults the house had all the facilities we wanted and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

“Surprisingly good location for travel to either coast, and certainly perfect if you want peace and wonderful countryside.”

A warm welcome from hosts, who otherwise afforded our family privacy; the bloodhounds mentioned in the description are totally separate from the holiday cottage, and even baying their loudest were more charming than annoying. The cottage itself is super, warm, clean, well equipped (enough place settings for a family of six to make the most of the dishwasher, and cooking equipment to cook everything we wanted). An interesting library (which included DVDs, but there is no player), cupboard full of games/jigsaws much appreciated. The Cornish inland does not seem to have such well maintained walking routes as the coast, and we found ourselves using the roads a lot, but there is very little traffic (just as well as there are very few passing-places!). Would happily return and recommend.

“The Roundhouse was absolutely super.”

It was very nicely kept and the rooms were great. It was tucked away just far enough to be able to go for a quiet walk around the local area avoiding the constant traffic in Cornwall at this time of year, but close enough to the main routes to get around the wider area. Sue and Gareth have done a super job and they were available when we needed them. Thank you.

On arrival we were met by Sue who gave us a very warm welcome. She showed us around the house which was very spacious and well equipped. The house itself was beautiful and cosy, everything down to the linen was of the best quality. We would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a tranquil and peaceful place to stay. The surrounding countryside is stunning. Ideal location for visiting many places of interest, Eden Project is about 20 minutes drive.
