The property

Frederick is settled in the rural countryside just outside the Devon village of Ashwater.

This dog-friendly shepherd's hut has a communal outdoor sauna and summerhouse, stunning rural views and a beautifully presented interior, making it ideal for a romantic break in the countryside with your four-legged canine companion.

Step inside and relax on the leather couch while taking in the rural views, then prepare a dinner making use of the kitchen's two-ring hob, microwave, George Foreman grill and fridge with ice box.

There is a cosy breakfast bar inside, or you can eat in the outdoor summerhouse, which has more chairs.

Evenings can be spent basking in the sauna's warmth or savouring the outdoors on the pond-side patio, where you can sip wine while watching the sun set over the horizon of rolling fields.

When the sky starts to get dark, come inside and freshen up in the contemporary shower room before resting in the plush king-size bed.

If you can endure leaving this peaceful setting, head into Ashwater's village centre to pick up some necessities at the village shop and then treat your special someone to a romantic meal at the Village Inn, where you can enjoy some delicious pub fare in the beer garden with your furry friend at your feet.

Visit the magnificent Lydford Castle and Saxon Town, explore the ruins of Launceston Castle, which dates back to the 13th century, or give your dog a run around at Penhallam Manor, which is home to a dog-friendly trail.

Head to the coast in Tintagel, where you can get lost in the Arthurian tale that the town was built on, or soak up the rays on the golden sands of Widemouth or Summerleaze Beach.

Dartmoor National Park is a paradise for nature lovers, with a plethora of exciting activities and sights within easy driving distance.

A delightfully rural village in the heart of West Devon’s green and undulating countryside. Surrounded by lush meadows, high hedgerows, wooded valleys and abundant wildlife, the village and area is popular with those visitors seeking to experience a true taste of country life. Roadford Lake with its sailing, fishing and visitors’ centre is just 4 miles, while the rolling surf, night life and sandy beaches at the closest resort of Bude, are within 20 miles.
