The property

2 miles from Tintagel and 2 from Boscastle, an upside down cottage, one of a small group of cottages converted from barns amidst fields in the hamlet of Halgabron.

Private lawn to the front and large shared grassy area with picnic table, enclosed pond and views down the valley to the sea.

You can walk to the sandy cove of Bossiney Haven via a long, steep, rocky valley footpath. Inside, hall with big cupboard (washing machine, freezer).

Three bedrooms - two double, one with sea views, and a bunk room (no clothes-hanging space).

Bathroom (suite, shower over bath) and separate loo (washbasin).

Stairs up to large open-plan living/dining/kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, larder fridge, electric cooker) with TV/DVD/Blu-ray, woodburner and balustrades from both the seating and dining areas, making the most of great sea views.

A lovely area to explore and discover the magical coastline steeped in history and legend. Tintagel: very famous (King Arthur legends) with tremendous coast, cliffs, coves, caves, sand and romantic castle/monastery ruins on a windswept headland.

Boscastle, 4 miles; Trebarwith Strand (surfing beach), 3; Port Isaac, 7; sailing, other watersports and good golf (St Enodoc) at Rock, 12.

About the location

TINTAGEL

Camelford 5.9 miles; Wadebridge 13 miles.

Tintagel, home of the legendary King Arthur’s Castle, whose ruins dominate the cliffside just outside the village, is a popular but not overcrowded tourist destination. The surrounding area is dominated by the sea, rocky coves and stunning scenery. Several beaches, including nearby Trebarwith Strand and Bossiney Cove, are within easy reach and surfing is the main attraction for those who love the water. Tintagel has several pubs and restaurants and the Old Post Office (National Trust) is a must. For the energetic, the SW Coast Path passes through the village and in both directions it winds its way along the cliffs and down to the water’s edge through dramatic countryside. Head north along the path and in 2.5 miles is the beautiful village of Boscastle with its quaint quay and village pubs for refreshment. Further afield are the surfing meccas of Newquay and Bude, with their resort attractions, while the open spaces of Bodmin Moor, the Eden Project, Padstow, Camel Estuary and Port Isaac are all within a 40-minute drive.
