The property

Situated in an attractive courtyard, a short drive from Cornish hot spots including Porthleven and the beautiful coastline of the Lizard Peninsula, Barn Owl Cottage is perfectly positioned, off the beaten track amidst scenic Cornish countryside.

This bright, open-plan barn conversion sports original beams and rafters with comfortable living and dining areas as well as a kitchen to one end.

Patio doors lead from the living room onto a sheltered patio, perfect for a summertime barbecue, beside a small walled terraced garden with an acre of parkland garden which is shared with the two neighbouring properties, offering space for children to fly kites and play football.

The ancient market town of Helston is three miles away and has much to offer, with a short-hole golf course, a swimming pool and sports centre, a boating lake, tennis courts and Flambards theme park.

Discover the superb beaches and hidden coves with caves for exploration at low tide - Praa Sands and Church Cove are simply breath-taking, with azure waters and white sandy beaches.

Explore the inland and coastal footpaths and experience the exhilarating views from the granite cliff tops.

Vibrant Penzance has something for everyone, or enjoy a bite to eat and a Cornish ale at Marazion beach, overlooking the mystical St Michael's Mount.

The ever-changing seascape of windsurfers and sailing boats will entertain you whilst you relax or go rock-pooling.

Falmouth, famous for its seafaring heritage, harbour, Henry VIII's Pendennis Castle and National Maritime Museum is peppered with galleries and gift shops, traditional inns and mouth-watering eateries set along characterful streets.

Helston lies at the western gateway to the Lizard Peninsula, a large area of downland fringed by a beautiful and spectacular coastline. Helston is a pleasant busy market town famous for its Flora Day Festival and the many stories and legends about the "Furry Dance" are told in the fascinating Helston Folk Museum. Nearby is the Poldark Mine, one of the best underground experiences in the south west and which tells of the widespread mining heritage of this area. Nestled in a tranquil setting is the National Seal Sanctuary on the Helford River, where there is plenty of entertainment watching seals play and feed. If it is thrill rides that excites you, then Flambards theme park will keep you amused all day and also has excellent living history experiences. Further afield is the harbour town of Falmouth to the east and Land's End to the west. Helston is a wonderful holiday destination offering plenty of attractions for the whole family.
