The property

Within the quaint village of Edington lying on the northern slope of Salisbury Plain, near to the famous Westbury White Horse, is this pretty cottage, Tilly's Cottage.

Originally built in the 1800s, this property holds rich history and character and has been transformed beautifully into a welcoming holiday home, suitable for a couples getaway or a small family looking to feel refreshed by the Wiltshire countryside.

Find the charming sitting room first and delight in the original red-brick fireplace where a woodburning stove will warm you after a days exploration.

Sit back and relax on plump grey sofas and rest up after your travels as you take in the property's lovely interior.

Step onto the original stone tiles into the kitchen/diner, where a modern grey and black fitted kitchen awaits your culinary skills to impress your partner, boasting all the appliances you need to whip up something good, including an electric oven and a smart induction hob.

A dining table, which you can fold out for a larger party and tuck in allows for dining and morning coffee at your leisure.

Find your snug slumber spots upstairs, where bed linen and curtains are coordinated to be matching and each of the two bedrooms holds a king-size bed for your comfort.

One of the rooms is able to become a twin room thanks to it's zip/link capabilities and it also features another red-brick fireplace, this one just being decorative.

Across the hall, find the neat and sparkling bathroom, decorated with soothing dark greys to create a relaxing space to enjoy a soak in the tub.

Access the garden on a sunny day by walking through a communal patio and up stone steps to your very own elevated decking, a great way to celebrate an occasion with some bubbly in the sun where you can enjoy the views of the countryside above rooftops.

You're within walking distance of the local amenities, an award-winning pub The Three Daggers and a fantastic farm shop to pick up some tasty local treats.

Head just out of the village to visit the famous Westbury White Horse, which for those who don't know is a magnificent white silhouette of a horse cut in the 1600s which is looked after and restored; see it up close and then carry on your walks to see it afar from the neighbouring hills to enjoy it in full.

The surrounding towns boast many attractions; head to Trowbridge, Wiltshire's county town, where the weekly market hosting local traders occurs every Wednesday.

Visit the majestic Elizabethan House of Longleat and visit the famous lions in the safari park.

Step back in time with a trip to Stonehenge just 15 miles.

Closer to home, brush up on the local history by visiting the museum, or simply find a fabulous coffee house to enjoy a slow afternoon, after all you are on holiday!

Tilly's Cottage makes for a great hideaway to get away from a busy life, with the help of the lovely Wiltshire countryside.
