The Property

Middle Coombe Farmhouse is a delightful property, filled with history and charm. Throughout the property, the interior design has been finished with lovely, contemporary furnishing that complement the original features beautifully. This large detached cottage, hosting seven bedrooms, would make the ideal base for a large group of family and friends looking for a festive break or an exciting celebration.

The ground floor plays host to a charming sitting room, boasting comfortable sofas which sit in front of a warming log burner. Opposite is a cosy sitting room, filled with an abundance of books and games to enjoy during the winter evenings. Cook your festive meals in the farmhouse-style kitchen/diner, where you will find an impressive dining table where everybody can comfortably sit around.

Upstairs, you will discover six well-appointed bedrooms, (including interlinking family rooms) perfect for unwinding after an exciting day.Downstairs one bedroom which can be used as a double or twin and suitable for partially disabled with an ensuite.

Outside, you will be able to entertain your guests during the summer months within an enclosed garden at the front of the house and an enclosed courtyard at the back of the house, complete with garden furniture, a barbecue and an open fire perfect for al fresco dining. The adjacent gardens lead to the solar heated outdoor swimming pool with sun lounges and hot tub. Hot tub is opened all year round.There are 200 acres of woodland in your back garden to enjoy and in the summer a field with football goal posts and a marquee for games. In the winter there is the Cider barn which acts as a games room with a pool table and more.

For local amenities you will find the nearest pub in the village of Uplowman and the closest shop is 3.5 miles away. For days out, be sure to visiting the town of Tiverton, where you will find a larger selection of cafes, pubs and shops to enjoy. Additionally, you can explore the history of the area by visiting the 11th-century Bickleigh Castle with moated gardens and the National Trust property of Knightshayes Court. This historic house in this tranquil, peaceful area of rural Devon has been a family home for many years; it is filled with interesting memorabilia, excellent furniture, is full of character and much loved.

Seven bedrooms: 1 x ground floor double (zip/link beds, can be twin on request) with en-suite walk-in shower, basin and WC, 2 x doubles with en-suite, with shower over bath, basin and WC, 1 x family bedroom with a double bed and two singles, 1 x family bedroom with double bed and single, 1 x double (zip/link beds, can be twin on request), 1 x single bedroom. Family bathroom with shower over bath, basin and WC. Separate WC room with basin and WC. Kitchen/diner. Utility/pantry. Sitting room with open fire. Sitting room/library.

Due to the age and character of the property it is important to note that several bedrooms can only be accessed via other bedrooms. From the landing on the first floor you can access a double bedroom (no en-suite), leading off this is a single bedroom. Leading through from the double is the family bedroom (double and 2 singles). The family bedroom again leads through to a second double bedroom (with en-suite). This final bedroom has a fire escape door, so can also be accessed via the track running by outside. There are two further bedrooms on the first floor that have “normal” access; this is the double with en-suite and double with zip/link beds.

Regional Information

UPLOWMAN Tiverton 5 miles; Exeter 25 miles. Uplowman is a small village and civil parish situated within Devon. Within the village you will find St. Peter’s church, a Post Office, a pub and a village hall. Four miles away is the larger town of Tiverton, which plays host to a larger selection of shops, pubs and restaurants to enjoy. Alternately, you visit the 11th Century Bickleigh Castle with moated gardens, the National Trust property of Knightshayes Court or for something more active, try the 8-mile cycle route from Tiverton to the Somerset border. Moreover, this area is ideal for exploring the Devon countryside with walks including the Grand Western Canal Country Park, a must do route, where you can explore the country park and the local nature reserve.
