“A lovely week spent in this well furnished apartment with superb views from the lounge and balcony.”

Extremely clean which in the current times was very reassuring and we soon felt very much at home . Having an allotted parking spot with the accommodation was really appreciated given that parking is limited in the resort though was rather tight . The lavender bushes in front of the apartment, if cut back would help . Would certainly recommend.

The view was breathtaking and it was so peaceful. The perfect location for being away from the bustling centre of Salcombe, but close enough to walk in to bars and restaurants. The owners had thought of everything to make our stay enjoyable.

“Apartment had amazing views of the sea and bay.”

Accommodation was clean and comfortable, extra measures taken due to COVID. In the description it led to believe the photo you see of gardens in front of balcony is shared but actually only the lawn at the side of house. Unfortunately the neighbours were having their annual landscaping and hedges done which meant chain saws and trimmers Monday - Friday we were there. Apparently ran over by 3 days, so worth enquiring about this if booking for next year as did ruin our peace & quiet.

“In general, a very comfortable apartment in a superb location.”

Instructions for finding the entrance could be better, why not include a photo of the drive entrance from the road? The apartment is described as being ‘all on one level’ but there are 3 steps down to the bathroom and twin bedroom. This was not a problem for us, but could be for anyone with mobility problems. Also, a grab handle would assist in getting in and out of the bath for a shower.

Lovely apartment with great view from the balcony. Accommodation was well laid out, very clean and quality furnishings. The photos are a true reflection of the property. Really good location to both beaches and town centre - easy stroll into town. Owner let us know when property was ready on the check in day which was a nice touch. We would stay here again and definitely recommend.

The apartment was in a perfect location with a quick walk to the beach albeit rather hilly. The apartment was spacious, clean and really well equipped and we would definitely like to return here again.

However if you want to walk anywhere the walks are steep down to town or to the North beach. If you are a walker there are some great local walks. We walked up to Overbeck's tropical gardens and my wife walked to Bolt Head both of these starting from the apartment and both recommended.

The property

½ mile from the centre of Salcombe and 500 yards (via footpath) from North Sands beach, on a sunny hillside, two comfortable and welcoming apartments (of eight).

The apartments have shared use of the communal sloping lawned garden to the side of the main building, and the ground-floor apartment also has its own private garden.

Shared laundry room (coin-operated washing machine/tumble drier).

A fabulous, fuss-free base in a beautiful part of the world.

3 Hazeldene is a first-floor apartment with level access from the private parking and time-wasting coastal views from both living room and south-facing balcony (table/chairs).

You are welcome to use the shared garden to the side of the main building.

Inside, open-plan living/dining/kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, freezer, larder fridge, wine cooler, electric cooker) with L-shaped sofa, TV/Sky/DVD and sliding doors to the balcony.

Two bedrooms - a double (5' bed) and, down 3 steps, a twin (zip-linkable to 6' double); smart bathroom (suite, shower over bath). Salcombe: one of the most beautifully sited small towns in Britain, at the mouth of the Kingsbridge estuary, a yacht haven with creeks, sandy bays.

Waterside pubs, nice shops.

Boats to hire, fishing, superb Nat.

Trust cliff walks/gardens; museum, tennis, outdoor swimming pool (in summer); pedestrian ferry to East Portlemouth (lovely beaches, The Venus Café and Takeaway).

Thurlestone and Bigbury (golf), 6 and 8 miles.

SALCOMBE

Kingsbridge 7 miles; Dartmouth 21 miles; Plymouth 24 miles; Paignton 26 miles.

Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.
