Reviews

    • “The only reason that Midships was not able to exceed our expectaions was that we had stayed ther before and knew what to expect! The flat is comfortable with all the facilities that holidaymakers would need and is close to the beach and high street for an early morining or evening walk - and the Sunday carvery at the Dolphin Hotel was an excellent Sunday lunch without the need to drive out of the village.”

    Mr Peek, Sittingbourne, September 2018

    • “The flat generally was well-equipped and comfortable. The location was the best aspect about it. The only criticisms we would have is that the bathroom could do with more of a deep clean and there wasn't enough toilet roll (only one roll left), handwash or sugar left for the week so we ended up having to replenish which is great for the next visitors but could have been replenished prior to our arrival.”

    Miss Pullen, LONDON, September 2018

    • “We have really enjoyed our stay. The flat is really comfortable, in an excellent location and Beer is a lovely village. The coastal walks are great! We will be coming back.”

    The Fisher Family,

    • “Midships is a very well appointed 2 bed apartment right in the centre of the lovely fishing village of Beer. Fully equiped with everything you could need, it also has the advantage of a washing machine and dishwasher - just like home from home. With a good sized double bedroom, the location is quiet and peaceful, yet only a minute from the high street. The apartment is on the first floor, reach via a flight of stairs. A car parking space at the rear of the property is a bonus, too. Ideal for self catering, but also close to some very nice restaurants in the village - Gina's, Osbornes, Anchor Inn etc... Spent a thoroughly enjoyable week here in September and would certainly return in the future.”

    Guest's Review On TripAdvisor,

    • “Just returned from 6 nights at this wonderful apartment. It provides everything we required and is beautifully furnished. It's in a quiet location in the beautiful village of Beer. Ideal for spending the day sightseeing then returning to Beer in the evening for an evening meal. We would have liked a full length mirror but that is being picky. I would definitely recommend this rental and would book again if we go back to this region.”

    Carol And Malcolm,

    • “WOW! That was the first word I said on entering the property. It was immaculate, beautifully furnished and we were very happy with our choice of holiday home. Wifi, TV, DVD player, washing machine, dishwasher, books, DVDs and CDs to play on the CD player all there to be used. Everything had been thought of. It got better, I always take some kitchen essentials with me but this time I didn't need one of them. The kitchen was equipped with everything I could have wanted. Nearly forgot to mention how comfortable the bed was too. Midships is close to the beach, some lovely pubs and wonderful places to eat as well as some shops. We had a lovely visit and would certainly recommend this beautiful modern apartment and definitely will re-book if we ever return to Beer for another holiday. Our thanks to the owners.”

Regional Information

BEER Seaton 1.5 miles; Lyme Regis 9 miles; Sidmouth 9.5 miles; Exeter 25 miles. Beer is a small picturesque fishing village on the south Devon coast near Seaton. The shingle beach is very sheltered, backed by limestone cliffs and was once fertile smuggling territory, plus contraband was hidden in nearby caves, which are now a popular tourist attraction. Beer is situated on the stretch of Devon coastline, known as the Jurassic Coast, a designated World Heritage Site, and the village offers sloping streets lined with picturesque stone houses and cottages built on many different levels of the steep valley sides. There are a good range of shops, friendly cafes, restaurants and pubs in Beer, plus just outside the village is the popular Pecorama Gardens, which are perched on the hill overlooking Lyme Bay. Pecorama boasts the Beer Heights Light Railway and indoor model railway exhibition, along with a childrens' play area. Beer is a unique Devon fishing village and a great place to stay.
