2 miles from North Tawton, close to tiny Bondleigh hamlet (church), a detached, single-storey cottage in a wonderfully tranquil and secluded spot with superb panoramic views over fields to the Taw Valley and Dartmoor.

Surrounding it, enclosed garden with terrace (table/chairs/bbq) and gentle steps down to lower lawn.

Nearby there are pretty walks beside the River Taw (350 yards).

The newly renovated interior combines 21st century comforts with a touch of nostalgia in beautifully restored original features and stripped floorboards.

North Tawton: small town (shops, three good food pubs, excellent fish and chips, church, children's play park) beside the river Taw, in rolling farmland 6 miles from Dartmoor (lovely views of it from hilltops).

The 180-mile Tarka Trail (cycling, walking) passes through.

Exeter (city), 15 miles; beaches (Bude, Exmouth), about 26.

Central location with good roads for exploring Devon.

Nestling between the high, rugged tors of Dartmoor and the wide sandy beaches and rolling surf of the North Devon coast, this delightful town boasts picturesque thatched cottages and quaint pubs.
