    • “Cottage was really comfortable and the owners had added many thoughtful touches to make their guests feel welcome.”

    Mrs Fisher, Birmingham, October 2018

    • “The lovely comfortable cottage was a joy from the start of our holiday . The owners made us feel so welcome by all the extras included ,like a cream tea put in the cottage ,eggs ,milk and vases of flowers . We were not intruded upon but knew they were close by if needed . The cottage is situated in such a beautiful location and within easy reach of so many places .We cannot wait to return to carry on exploring and experience the peaceful tranquility of it all. We came away feeling the benefit of a very happy holiday break.”

    Mrs Marsh, Brighton, October 2018

    • “Perfect little getaway especially if you like walking on the moor. You literally step out of the gate on to the moor. Lots to see and visit locally and plenty of pubs for cosy meals in the evenings. So peaceful and quiet. The owners have put a lot of thought into providing a perfectly compact yet well equipped holiday cottage. Access is a bit awkward up steep steps but once inside it’s a perfect little haven.”

    Mrs Law, Ashford, September 2018

    • “Really enjoyed this lovely comfortable cottage. Very peaceful location, fantastic walks and within one hour of the coast. The owners could not have been more helpful.”

    Mr Houghton, York, September 2018

    • “This was an absolutely wonderful place to stay! I wanted peace and quiet for a few days and how wonderful to wake up every morning with just the sound of birds and the river. Beautiful Dartmoor literally just outside the door and a cottage with everything you could need. The owners are delightful and happy to leave you to your own devices but there if you need them. Little touches like a cream tea on arrival, fruit and fresh flowers add a homely touch. A little bit of paradise that I will DEFINITELY return to!”

    Mrs Power, Bridgwater, August 2018

    • “Many little extras were provided which made for a lovely welcome. Everything needed had already been thought of for a ‘home from home ‘.”

    Mrs Colborne, Swanage, August 2018

    • “This destination was so perfect and beyond our wildest dreams! The owners were delightful, helpful and considerate. The little touches of fresh eggs, cream tea and fruit were just what we needed when we arrived. The property had all you needed, the bed was super comfortable, the water hot and a bath a treat! The garden was private and access straight onto Dartmoor was from the gate in the garden! We didn't use our car once as everything in the locality was beautiful and the local pub was brilliant. Everyone was so friendly and we most definitely want to return here. Absolutely lovely!”

Mr Wakely, Tunbridge Wells, August 2018

    • “Tawcroft Cottage was the perfect getaway. A very clean and comfy cottage in the most beautiful, peaceful surroundings. We have booked cottages with Sykes a few times now and have been very impressed every time! Thank you”

    Mrs Knight, Chippenham, June 2018

    • “When booking this holiday I assumed I was doing it through Helpful Holidays - it was their number I rang. I was disconcerted - to put it mildly - to discover, when checking my emails, that I had been dealing with another company altogether. It would have been a courtesy, to say the least, for the person who answered the phone to explain immediately that Helpful Holidays no longer existed. I dislike intensely being addressed by my first name by people I've never met in my life and am never likely to meet. Neither do I like the attempt to sell me insurance before even discussing the booking. And then, as I recall, there was some nonsense about data protection, as though to justify the attempted hard sell. Finally, I was charged £266 when I seem to remember the advertised price was £260.”

    Mr Miller, Twickenham, May 2018
