“This was the fourth time we had visited this cottage so we knew what to expect in what is a favourite place.”

Two minor criticisms however, both relevant to Bovey Castle management: 1). Our fridge door fittings were missing resulting in limited storage capacity. Mention to Bovey Castle employee resulted in our being told that there was not much that could have been done about that. 2). Two minor criticisms however, both relevant to Bovey Castle management: 1). Our fridge door fittings were missing resulting in limited storage capacity. Mention to Bovey Castle employee resulted in our being told that there was not much that could have been done about that. 2). Bovey Castle’s Reception seemed understaffed and ill-prepared to deal with us on top of an influx of a vintage Rolls Royce rally and managed to misdirect our Waitrose delivery driver. Had it not been for the driver’s diligence and pro activity we would have been left without our groceries for the week until Waitrose could get back to us whenever. For a top class country hotel we feel its service in these two areas was sub-par.
