Reviews

    • “A relaxing break”
    • tripadvisor rating
    • “We booked through Sykes Cottages, a really easy booking. We were sent details of how to get to the property a few days prior to our arrival. Getting to the property was really easy, and the SatNav didn't get us lost. The apartment is located behind a secure gated complex of a few (probably 20) luxury exclusive apartments. Egret is the only one bedroom apartment and lovely for just two. Its very cosy, and has everything you could possibly need we only used the accommodation to sleep in and had meals out everyday. The WiFi wasn't working when we arrived, and telephoning the mobile number we had been provided the gentleman who owns the property was there in less than ten minutes. He then made some phone calls to get it sorted and we were advised it would be fixed promptly. The apartment was nice and clean with good quality bedding and towels. There is a washer/dryer to wash the towels daily and the bedding as required. We found this really good as one could put the linen in prior to going out and it was clean and dry and ready to re-use upon returning. There are some lovely walks close by, we frequently walked into Brixham, to Berry Head, Churston and Paignton. The coastal path joins the property so this is a perfect property for those enjoying a peaceful break in a lovely setting. Highly recommended.”

    • “The apartment is somewhat “Bijoux” but was very well equipped with all the modern equipment including a dishwasher and WiFi - essential for modern living. Some good walks nearby but the walks tend to be somewhat steep due to the location of the apartment overlooking Brixham Bay. We would recommend an apartment for 4 people in this complex, even if there is two of you - just to give that extra room.”

    • “Had a lovely week. The holiday apartment was in a good location, was comfortable and, although small, was perfectly adequate for the 2 of us. We would definitely use the company again.”

    • “Needs a case stand --- lock on the bathroom door ---- keep the road security lights on at night --- clear the cobwebs around the patio area.”

    Mr Ward, Bristol, June 2018

    • “Had a fantastic time beautiful location easy to find when we arrived at the cove. The egret was very clean on arrival every thing was all on one floor.Brixham and Paignton are a beautiful place would love to live there. We will deafantly be booking the egret again in the future .”

    • “A few days prior to departure we were provided with directions on how to arrive at our holiday apartment. Directions were comprehensive, but didn't include a number or postcode for the satellite navigation. The information we had been provided with the directions came with a landline and mobile number, I text the mobile number and instantly was provide with the all relevant information. We were aware we had WiFi at the property so took the ipad to search out places to eat, and things to see and do. Upon trying to connect to the WiFi it became apparent it wasn't working. We immediately text the number we had been provided and in less than ten minutes we had a gentleman at the apartment trying to get things sorted. He contacted the owner, who agreed the WiFi wasn't working and he would refund all costs for the use of our mobile data. Sykes have also been extremely good and have provided us with a nominal £30 good will voucher for the inconvenience. The property is extremely cosy, lovely and clean and comes with everything one could possibly need. Bedding and towels were of good quality and towels were nice and fluffy, soft and thick. We didn't eat at the property, as we always eat out when we are on holiday. There is a washer dryer which was extremely useful as we could wash the towels through daily and they were clean and dry upon return. We were there for a week so we did the same once with the bedding, I change my bed every third day at home and cannot imagine anyone would want to sleep in the same bedding for a week. There is also an iron and ironing board. The property is extremely well located for the South West Coastal Path it joins the land of the apartment. The apartment is part of a complex of approximately 20 apartments which are in a gated complex, Egret is the only one bed accomodation. The others are all two bed have sea views and are all named after birds. These don't appear to be on Sykes website at the moment but are on another Devon Cottage website, obviously they are considerably more expensive as they all have sea views of the bay, large balconies and two bedrooms. We took in some lovely walks. The walk to Berry Head was lovely as was the walk to Paignton, passing Churston Cove on the way. Dartmouth was a bit more of a trek, but we stopped for coffee and croissants, had lunch in Dartmouth and cream tea and scones on the way back. We found a lovely bakery in Brixham which kept us supplied with our walking lunches. Unfortunately we can't remember the name of it, but if you find the bus terminus it has a white canopied design, stand with you back to it with the car park behind you. Walk to you left and you will see a bus stop outside of a bakery their goodies are yummy, scrummy, and help improve the waistline while on holiday. Highly recommend this apartment, a cosy love nest just for two, it will be perfect for the two of you...”
