1 Woodside Cottages is set in the very pretty village of Milton Combe, just a few miles from Yelverton.

Stylish yet welcoming, this lovely retreat rests between the Tamar Valley AONB and Dartmoor National Park, both offering breathtaking scenery, superb walks and a range of countryside pursuits.

Inside you'll find a warm and inviting stting room where you can recline on the sofa in front of a roaring woodburning stove.

The dining area is a wonderfully social space for enjoying a meal or sharing a bottle of wine whilst the well fitted kitchen houses a feature Range cooker and everything you'll need to prepare delicious meals.

At the end of a day exploring the area, retire to one of two peaceful bedrooms, a spacious double with a super kingsize bed and ensuite shower room or a twin room which overlooks the garden.

A second shower room on the ground floor means that guests needn't share facilities.

During the summer months you can dine alfresco in the terraced garden or simply sit with a good book and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Surrounded by the Tamar Valley AONB and Dartmoor National Park, there is no shortage of good walking nearby.

Head to the Walkham Valley where rugged scenic panoramas meet gentle woodlands, or Lopwell Dam for a host of breathtaking views and colours year round.

For keen gardeners, The Garden House is a horticultural experience and there some excellent nurseries to visit.

The National Trust's Buckland Abbey is a little over half a mile away and is well worth a visit, as is the nearby ancient market town of Tavistock which offers a wide range of eateries and a wonderful Pannier Market.

Further afield the golden sandy beaches of the South Hams are perfect for families whilst the bright lights of Plymouth with its theatre, shopping and restaurants is a highlight for couples seeking an evening 'on the town'.

The pretty village of Yelverton makes a perfect base for exploring Dartmoor with excellent walking and cycling routes in the area. The 21 mile-long cycling and walking route Drakes trail, runs through the village and links nearby Tavistock and Plymouth passing through wooded valleys and open moorland. It is also possible to hire bikes in the village. There are several eating places around Yelverton including The Drake Manor Inn and The Royal Oak which provide a warm welcome and superb locally sourced food. Nearby attractions include Buckland Abbey, The Garden House and Burrator Reservoir. The South Devon coast is within easy reach for day trips to Salcombe and the pretty riverside village of Newton Ferrers. The Naval port of Plymouth can also be easily reached, famous for its maritime heritage and the historic Barbican district its narrow, cobbled streets lined with a fine selection of restaurants and bars.
