“Withymore Cottage is in a perfect location.”

Very close to local amenities with Hope Cove and Salcombe within 10 mins car journey. East Soar Farm (weddings) is also only a few minutes away. The cottage is well equipped and the owners are very accommodating (providing a welcome bottle of wine, locally produced apple juice, milk, tea and coffee). The only items we would have found useful, to be included in the property, are a non-slip bath mat for the shower on the ground floor and a clothes airer. ...

I found Sykes Cottages professional and extremely helpful. I was finding it difficult to find a suitable property close to East Soar Farm to attend a wedding. The lady I spoke to listened to my requirements (I specifically needed a bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor for my elderly parents). Her knowledge of the area was exemplary; advising on safe beaches for my grandson and places to visit in case of inclement weather. Thanks to you all - we had a wonderful holiday.

The property

½ mile from the pubs in Malborough, quietly tucked into a sunny dip in lush landscape, a renovated cottage facing over its patio (table/chairs, barbecue) with a few shallow steps up to a large raised enclosed lawned garden.

It is semi-detached to swallow-occupied, unused barns and adjacent to the main farmhouse (170 acre farm, beef/sheep) and its flower-filled gardens, with orchard and meadows beyond.

A tranquil retreat after a day on the beach, or just to sit and enjoy with a book and cuppa. From the patio, glazed double doors to open-plan living/dining/kitchen (dishwasher, washer-drier, microwave, fridge-freezer, electric cooker) with TV/DVD, Bluetooth radio and woodburner; ground-floor double bedroom (5' bed) and shower-room (suite).

Steep stairs (stairgates) up to two more bedrooms (washbasins) - a double (5' bed) with pretty garden view, and step up to a twin (zip-linkable to 6' double); bathroom (suite, shower over bath).

A brilliant star-gazing place. Malborough: village (church, pub, PO/shop) with many pretty thatched cottages dating back to when it was ‘an eminent settlement with a small port at Salcombe' (1½ miles), Bigbury Bay and Hope Cove (pub, PO/shop), 2 miles.

Kingsbridge, 4 miles.
