    The space is fantastic.

    The space is fantastic. The pool is amazing. Lovely clean property. Only downside for us, was there was only 2 bedrooms with TVs and we felt for the what the place cost a tv in every bedroom wouldn't of been to much to ask. How ever we will be booking again as the house is amazing.

The property

In Blakewell, down a private lane beside a few other houses, a charmingly converted, Grade II listed mill in an acre of truly stunning gardens with its own indoor heated swimming pool (16' square x 5'6" deep, available Easter to end of October) in a separate building (changing room, loo).

Steps and paths up to beautifully landscaped gardens, orchard with old Devon apple trees and sheltered suntrap patio (tables/chairs, barbecue, firebowl).Inside, comfort and imagination.

Three floors: on the middle floor, large living room with woodburner in huge fireplace (logs included), wood floor (rug), three sofas, beanbags, smart TV/DVD/PVR, Bluetooth soundbar.

Big conservatory (cane furniture) looking to the garden.

Kitchen/dining room (dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer, drinks fridge, range-style cooker with gas hobs/electric double oven, breakfast bar/stools, dining table best for 10, iPod dock); loo.

On the ground floor, two bedrooms - a double (3 steps up to 5' bed) with low beams and millstone, chaise longue and 3 steps up to en suite shower-room (suite), and another double (5' canopied sleigh bed) with en suite bathroom (suite, shower over bath); utility room (washing machine, tumble drier); games room (table football, air hockey); loo.

On the top floor (stairgates), three further bedrooms (low beams) - low lintel to a room with 5' double and single beds, TV/DVD, dressing room with chaise longue and archway (no door) to en suite bathroom (suite with roll-top bath plus hand-shower and separate shower); another room with double and single beds, TV/DVD, sofa and glazed door to small balcony; a pretty single; bathroom (suite, shower over bath).Best for maximum of 10 people.

Walks from the door along a stream-lined valley.

Good food pub, 1 mile.

Organic farm shop and trout fishing (adults and children), 100 yards.

A magical place to stay. Blakewell: hamlet in a quiet stream-lined valley 1½ miles from Barnstaple (shops, restaurants, cinema, food market).

The great north Devon sand/surf beaches (Saunton, Croyde, Woolacombe), about 8 miles; golf at Barnstaple and Saunton; fly-fishing locally; nature reserve (birdwatching), 5 miles; Exmoor, about 8.
