    “Pippin was the perfect house for our stay.”

    It was very close to the beach and was spacious inside and lots of seating in the living area. The kitchen was very well equipped and also very spacious so several people could work in the kitchen at once!

The property

In Charmouth, about 500 yards up from the beach, a stunning detached house at the end of a private drive behind the main street.

Built in 2015, its ‘upside down’ layout makes the most of long, panoramic views over the village to the beach, Stonebarrow Hill and across the sea to Portland.

Enclosed sitting-out area (seating for 8, gas barbecue) and, bordering the drive (shared with neighbouring owners), small lawned area.

Inside, stylish and comfortable with quality fittings (‘extras’ include USB sockets, integrated wine cooler), bamboo flooring upstairs (rugs), seagrass-style carpets downstairs.

Nine steps up to front door into magnificent, vaulted living/dining/kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, freezer, larder fridge, 5-ring induction hob/two electric ovens) with high apex beams, quartz worktops, central island with 2 stools, woodburner, TV/DVD and full-width bi-fold door to seaward-facing balcony (views, lovely sunrises).

Also on this level, study/second living room (TV/DVD), doubling as a bedroom when required (double sofa bed), and loo.

Stairs down to three spacious bedrooms with distant peek of the sea - a double (6' zip-linked bed or twin) with slate-floored en suite shower-room (suite) and door to sitting-out area, and two further doubles (6' zip-linked beds or twin).

Lyme Regis (seaside/harbour town, sand, good fish restaurant), 2 miles.

Golf nearby.

Bridport (market town), 7 miles; Axminster (Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s café, rail connection with Waterloo), 6 miles; River Cottage HQ (regular events), 4 miles.

Beautiful, wooded country inland.
