“The location of the Cow Shed was great, we loved being able to walk to the South Coast Path just from the garden gate.”
The recommendations for places to eat were really good, we enjoyed Pattard's restaurant on the Friday night, the local Hart Inn during the week and a very amazing Sunday lunch at The Farmers Arms, Woolsery. A cosy getaway, perfect for a couple.

Had everything we needed. Remote and peaceful. On the coastal path so good for walking. Easy reach of some lovely beaches and wonderful waves for surfers and boarders. Owners were very helpful though not intrusive. Would definitely stay here again- Mrs Pringle, August 2020

“We had a super week staying at the Cow Shed.”
The property is fitted to a very high standard, very clean and tidy with an excellent layout. Lots of nice touches around the property including some food essentials plus one or two "luxuries" made us feel very welcome on arrival. The owners were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay, always on hand when we needed local advice. We were blessed with lovely weather during our visit, enabling us to see North Devon and Cornwall in all their glory ! We would have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone considering North Devon for a holiday destination. There are plenty of things to do in a fairly short radius from the property (ie, within 30 minutes drive), including lovely coastal walks from the end of the garden. Among a number of decent places to eat, we would single out the Farmers Arms in Woolsery as a must - the food and venue are stunning !- Mrs Dowding, June 2019

“Delightful cottage home from home”
We had a very peaceful week here, A really comfortable space with all the facilities one could need. The Cowshed is very well laid out for two people. The kitchen is really well provided in utensils and appliances. The owners are super friendly and there were little extras from their garden left for us during the week - thank you so much.- Gillian N, September 2018
Just returned from a fortnight staying at the Cow Shed. It was amazing, I would have given a higher rating if it had been possible. The cottage has been furnished to the highest spec, I can't think of anything that hadn't been thought about by the owners.Such a comfortable bed, brilliant power shower, gorgeous handmade soaps. The accommodation is off the beaten track which just enhanced a tranquil and peaceful holiday, it was so easy to completely unwind...in fabulous comfort. The devon coastline is spectacular and the coastal path is literally a field away from the Cow shed, perfect for long challenging walks or just an evening stroll. Thank you Liz and Nick for a truly fantastic holiday cottage and for all the little gifts that seemed to magically appear!- Sue B, August 2018
My Husband and I stayed for a week at The Cow Shed in July 2017, booked through Helpful Holidays. The photo's of the property are spot on. The accommodation is excellent, modern, well maintained and fully equipped for a self catering holiday. The design and layout of The Cow Shed is fantastic with great use of space. Costal walks on the doorstep, everything else within an easy reach. Truly loved our stay and was sad to be leaving.........- Louiseb1cat, July 2017
“Peaceful and Tranquil”

About 4 miles from Clovelly and from dramatic Hartland Quay, a cottage converted from a cow shed in the grounds of a former farmhouse (now a smallholding).
Meadows surround it and you can walk from the garden gate across a field to the stunning Coast Path winding down into Clovelly (for the fit with stout boots).
In front, own patio (table/chairs) and you are welcome to use a large, grassed hedge-enclosed garden around the cottage.
Inside, the cottage is glossy, comfortable, roomy and a romantic place to chill out and forget the rush of modern life.
Living/dining/kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer, electric cooker) with woodburner and TV/DVD; loo (washer-drier).
Stairs up to double bedroom (5' bed) with smart en suite shower-room (suite).
No children, except pre-crawling babies.
Great star-gazing country. Clovelly: famous, cobbled, cliffside, traffic-free village (pubs, museum/shop) with picturesque 16th century cottages winding down to small harbour (seasonal fishing/day trips to Lundy Island).
Family adventure parks, 1½ and 10 miles; Woolfardisworthy (shop), 4; Hartland (shops, pubs), 6; Bideford (town) and Westward Ho! (big beach), 10; shopping village, 10; Bude (sand/surf beaches), 15.

About the location
Bucks Cross 4 miles; Bideford 8 miles; Barnstaple 20.4 miles
The picturesque fishing village of Clovelly occupies a secluded, cliffside position and attracts visitors from the world over. A pedestrianised, cobbled street winds its way down the hillside passing the colourful gardens that characterise the village's pretty, whitewashed cottages, on its way down to the sheltered harbour. Local shops, pubs and restaurants crowd the working harbour from where the local fishermen show their daily catch of mackerel and check their lobster pots. Follow the stunning coast over the clifftops toward the romantic Hartland Point, or to the colourful market town of Bideford, with its quaint quay, medieval bridge and vibrant shopping area. Nearby, the famous Westward Ho! provides superb beaches and excellent watersports opportunities, while the Big Sheep Adventure Park will occupy the whole family! A beautiful and inspirational location for a memorable holiday.
