“The location is absolutely breathtaking - in a valley but nonetheless getting lots of sun, on a quiet lane (if you ignore the beautiful birdsong), with interesting walks (from short strolls to long hikes) straight from the door (including a link to the East Devon Way).”

You'd think you were miles from anywhere, but there are lovely little towns and beautiful beaches within easy reach - it would be a good place for a biking holiday if you have stamina and gears (only a 40 minute cycle from Axminster station). The listing doesn't do the garden justice - it's really well planted with a nicely judged balance of more formal flower beds and wild areas, and every where you turn is another lovely place to sit, in sun or shade.
