The property

On the edge of the hamlet of Rawridge, attached to the owners’ house, is this comfortable cottage created from a byre.

Perhaps you are planning a romantic trip for two, or a peaceful getaway.

If so then this is the place to be.

French windows open into a stylish and well-thought out open-plan living/dining/kitchen, centred by an inglenook fireplace housing a woodburning stove.

Exposed whitewashed beams and low lighting create a lovely place to settle down on the sofa, or to enjoy a romantic dinner for two.

A modern well-equipped kitchen lies at the back of the layout, adding to the warm, homely feel of the accommodation.

Oak stairs lead up to a double bedroom under the eaves with sloping ceiling and skylight windows projecting lovely views, and a smart shower-room suite.

Wake up to the beautiful interior, then enjoy a cup of tea outside in the small paved and enclosed sitting-out area, with wonderful scenery across the valley.

A comfortable and very welcoming base from which to explore this beautiful area of east Devon and the Jurassic Coast.

Nearby, Honiton boasts an attractive High Street stretching almost 2 miles, lined with independent shops, pubs and restaurants.

Resorts such as Seaton, Budleigh Salterton and Sidmouth are found along this coastline, as well as Lyme Regis, offering plenty for visitors to enjoy.

Honiton is a delightful market town in East Devon, with plenty to offer visitors. It lies in the valley of the River Otter and is surrounded by rolling Devon hills, green wooded valleys and plenty of scattered farming villages. Honiton has an attractive High Street stretching almost 2 miles, and lined with individually owned shops, pubs and restaurants. Honiton has been famous for lacemaking since the reign of Elizabeth I and still has a few lacemakers in work today - visitors can see some fine examples of antique lace in the town’s Allhallows Museum. Honiton boasts the only public art gallery in East Devon; the Thelma Hulbert Gallery occupies an attractive Grade I listed Victorian house, and has links with the Hayward Gallery, London. Honiton is only a short drive from the dramatic 20 mile stretch of Jurassic Coast, England’s first natural World Heritage Site. Resorts such as Seaton, Budleigh Salterton and Sidmouth are found along this stretch of coastline, and all have much to occupy the visitor. Near to Honiton is the cathedral city of Exeter with plenty of large shops, a wealth of museums, a theatre and fabulous restaurants.
