The Property

1½ miles from Chudleigh, in the tiny hamlet of Kerswell, a smart and spacious cottage converted from a barn, with split-level foundations and ‘upside down’ layout to make the most of superb long views over miles of beautiful rolling countryside. At the front, a big gravelled courtyard (table/chairs) which owners occasionally use to access their adjoining home and you have your own enclosed outdoor space (tables/chairs, barbecue) at the back.
Inside, stylish contemporary decor, limestone-tiled floors (rugs), big apex beams. From the courtyard, door to tiled hall (room for coats/boots). Upstairs, huge living area with big sofas positioned for those far-reaching views, smart TV/DVD/Blu-ray, woodburner (logs included) and glazed door (5'9" lintel) to rear garden; 2 steps up to bright dining/kitchen area (dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier, microwave, freezer, larder fridge, electric cooker) with stable doors and further glazed door (5'9" lintel) to rear garden. Downstairs (stairgate), two generous bedrooms (carpeted) - a double (5' bed) with TV and en suite bathroom (suite with separate shower) with additional door to hall, and a family room with 5' double and twin beds, step up to en suite bathroom (suite with roll-top bath plus separate shower) and glazed doors to front courtyard. Beach towels provided. Spring water. A peaceful, rural spot, yet with excellent access to city, coast and moors.






Chudleigh: little old coaching town about 8 miles (over the beautiful Haldon Hills) from the sea at Dawlish or Teignmouth. Exeter (cathedral city), 9 miles; Newton Abbot (market town), 5; Torbay, about 11; Dartmoor, 5. Golf (two courses), 4. Riding stables in Chudleigh.

Regional Information

CHUDLEIGH Exeter 9.4 miles. The Teign Valley is a dramatically steep wooded valley to the Eastern flank of Dartmoor National Park between the villages of Dunsford in the North and Chudleigh to the South. The villages of Christow, Lower and Higher Ashton, Dunsford and Hennock are peaceful locations for holidays with beautiful scenery all around with hills, fields, rivers and stunning thatched cottages. The entire area in and around Chudleigh is a walker's paradise with magnificent views to be admired. If you’re feeling a little more energetic then you could try your hand at rock climbing, go kayaking on the nearby River Teign, mountain biking or trekking around the location and beyond.
