    • “Had a great week in this cottage. Lovely and clean, really comfortable bed with nice bedding. Couldn’t fault it. Lots of treats left in the house for us too! The owners next door were most helpful but not intrusive, even offering to do some shopping for us. The pub is really close with great food and the local shop is less than five minute walk away. If you like walking there are plenty of walks from the door, with a guided walk leaflet in the cottage. Would definitely like to return. Don’t want to say any more or we’ll never manage to re-book!”

    Mrs Hajder, Chelmsford, January 2019

    • “We had a most enjoyable holiday. The owners made us very welcome and comfortable. The cottage is well situated for visiting the coast.”

    Mrs Sparkes, GLOUCESTER, December 2018

    • “All the little touches were very much appreciated, from the lovely plate of cakes to the little jars of nuts and sweets. The property had all the kitchen equipment we needed and after the initial glitch the house was warm and comfortable.”

Mr Wallis, East Grinstead, December 2018

    • “Brook Cottage in Dalwood gave us the ideal place to relax in the most comfortable and ideal location. Gwyn and Mandy have given this cottage a luxurious feel with all the many little features and treats you could ever imagine. The weather at the end of October was cold with frosty mornings but the cottage with its log burning stove gave us a warm cosy place to stay. Positioned just across the road from the Tuckers Arms was ideal, as they provided a wonderful menu and atmosphere in the evenings with no need to drive. The village is an ideal location for the Devon Seaside towns or just use the many walks around the village. This is one of the cottages we would like to return to.”

    Mr Hill, Birmingham, October 2018

    • “The cottage was amazing a real haven. It was in a lovely location with everything you would need for a perfect holiday. Gwyn, Mandy and Teddy (the owners) made us most welcome and all the little treats that were left in the cottage were a lovely touch. Would recommend this cottage and location as gave us everything we needed to have the best of times.”

    Mrs Tyrrell, Stockbridge, October 2018

    • “Brook cottage is beautiful, Mandy, Gwyne and Teddy are the most perfect hosts. Lots of little extras, that make you feel so welcome, the cottage is spotlessly clean with top quality fittings and furnishings. Set in a lovely and friendly village. I would not hesitate in recommending Brook Cottage to family and friends.”

    Mr Lappine, Warrington, August 2018

    • “We just like to say that the cottage was excellent with lots of local information available. The owners and their dog Teddy made us feel very welcome and in the village everyone seemed very friendly.”

    Mr Jameson, DRONFIELD, June 2018

    • “This holiday let was very good in all aspects. The owners were extremely friendly and could not have been more helpful. We felt we had made new friends within 24 hours (including Teddy, the dog). The facilities in the cottage were first rate and the general ambiance of the cottage and environs contributed to a very enjoyable and relaxing week. We would n't hesitate to repeat the occasion and would happily recommend Brook Cottage to others.”

    Mrs Foad, Tonbridge, June 2018

    • “Brook Cottage was a delightful place to stay in. So welcoming, comfortable and thoughtfully prepared . Beautiful walks from the doorstep. A lovely place to be even if the weather disappoints. We would love to return!”

    Mrs Allen, WITNEY, March 2018

    • “We had a very restful and peaceful Christmas at Brook Cottage. It is a lovely cottage, beautifully presented and perfectly clean. The owners Mandy and Gwyn provided everything we needed and more - lots of cakes and sweets, fruit and flowers, and even arranged for Santa to bring us a box of biscuits. There are lovely walks around the village and so much to see in this part of Devon and nearby Dorset. We would recommend the cottage for any time of year and hope to visit again. We were not so impressed with your booking system. We thought we were booking with Helpful Holidays and thought this was a Devon company but when we rang the call went through to Sykes Cottages who didn’t know anything about the cottage. We specifically said we did not want to go on the mailing list but this was ignored and we had to unsubscribe from the emails. There were also several attempts on the phone and in the emails, to sell us insurance which we did not need.”

    Mrs Mathias, Cranbrook, December 2018
