“To paraphrase Pop Larkin - just "perfick".”

Our short break at Little Evanses gave us just what we were looking for - peace, comfort and beautiful scenery. Owners, Terry and Karen were very welcoming but not intrusive and we very much look forward to returning.

It has been converted and refurbished to a high standard.

Easy, attractive footpath down the hill through fields to the village, ½ mile.

Outside, lawned garden (table/chairs, barbecue).

Beech and stainless steel fitted kitchen/dining room (dishwasher, washer-drier, microwave, fridge-freezer, electric cooker).

Double-aspect living room (woodburner, smart TV/DVD, iPhone, iPod dock) with two enormous 9' high glazed doors.

Large twin bedroom with en suite shower-room (suite, double cubicle).

Tiny porch with door to outside, and at the back, a door leads to the decking.

Steep, narrow stairs (stairgate) up to an attractive attic double bedroom (5' bed, TV) with large en suite bathroom (suite with slipper bath plus hand-shower in the centre under the eaves).

Sleeps maximum of 4 adults.

An unusual and attractive house with wonderful views, well placed for exploring Devon, Dorset and Somerset. Dalwood: pretty, friendly village (church, good food pub, PO/shop) within the Blackdown Hills conservation area.

Axminster (small town), 4 miles; Honiton, 6 miles.

The south coast at Lyme Regis, Seaton, Beer and Sidmouth, 7-11 miles.

About the location

Dalwood

The lovely market town of Axminster has been made famous by the well-known organic shop and canteen in the area, which were introduced by TV presenter Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall. Nestled in outstanding peaceful countryside, Axminster is certainly a place to relax and unwind.
