The property

½ mile from Dousland, on a quiet lane and surrounded by a working farm, a smart, contemporary, detached cottage next to the owners’ farmhouse.

The picturesque rural scenes of the 'War Horse' movie were filmed nearby.

Own patio (table/chairs, barbecue) and views over owners gardens with wildlife pond, carefully renovated and refurbished to a high standard.

Step down into spacious living room with TV/DVD and woodburner.

Three steps down into generous-sized kitchen/dining room (dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer, electric hob/double oven, iPod dock) with sliding doors to patio and views towards the owners’ paddock, where Ted the horse grazes, with countryside/moorland beyond.

Loo.

Stairs up to lovely big double bedroom (5' bed, footboard) and beautiful bathroom (suite, shower over roll-top bath plus hand-shower).

Washing machine in outhouse.

A really generous and comfortable base in a lovely part of Dartmoor and well placed for discovering Devon and Cornwall. Dousland: small village (pub, PO) on the south-western slopes of Dartmoor, close to the open moor, Burrator Reservoir and the Plym Valley (lovely walks) and a mile from Meavy (pub) and Yelverton.

The Garden House (10 acre garden, tearoom), 2½ miles; Buckland Abbey, 4.

Princetown, 4½ miles; Tavistock, 6 miles; Plymouth, 10 miles.
