“What a smashing couple Jon and Lou are.”

Real peoples people. The cottage was lovely and just as we expected, the gardens were beautiful. The scones jam and cream was a nice touch on arrival and didn’t last long lol. We understand that Jon and Lou had only recently taken over at Coward Lake Farm and we wish them every success for the future.

The picturesque rural scenes of the 'War Horse' movie were filmed nearby.

Own patio (table/chairs, barbecue) and views over owners gardens with wildlife pond, carefully renovated and refurbished to a high standard.

Step down into spacious living room with TV/DVD and woodburner.

Three steps down into generous-sized kitchen/dining room (dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer, electric hob/double oven, iPod dock) with sliding doors to patio and views towards the owners’ paddock, where Ted the horse grazes, with countryside/moorland beyond.

Loo.

Stairs up to lovely big double bedroom (5' bed, footboard) and beautiful bathroom (suite, shower over roll-top bath plus hand-shower).

Washing machine in outhouse.

A really generous and comfortable base in a lovely part of Dartmoor and well placed for discovering Devon and Cornwall. Dousland: small village (pub, PO) on the south-western slopes of Dartmoor, close to the open moor, Burrator Reservoir and the Plym Valley (lovely walks) and a mile from Meavy (pub) and Yelverton.
