The charming town of Chagford 4.7 miles provides a selection of traditional eateries if you don't fancy cooking one evening, as well as some shops for picking up any last-minute essentials.

Okehampton - 6.5 miles away has a range of shops and supermarkets as well as the Museum of Dartmoor life. Further afield in the thriving city of Exeter, you can access a great number of popular tourist hot spots, all well-worth the visit.

Historic attractions include Exeter Cathedral and the Royal Albert Museum and Art Gallery.

The Devon Wildlife Trust has dedicated over fifty years to protecting all manner of wildlife and would be a haven for animal lovers to explore during your trip.

You will have easy access to stunning Dartmoor, rich with wildlife and open moorlands, ideal for exploring and walking.

The 20th century Castle Drogo rests nearby, also a National Trust property.

Garden lovers would enjoy visits to Stone Lane Gardens (2.7miles away) and RHS Rosemoor (28 miles away at Great Torrington).

A picturesque town at the northern point of Dartmoor National Park in Devon. Chagford, one of the five Stannary towns of Dartmoor, is small in size but is packed with amenities and things to do. There is a wide range of shops as well as four pubs. Chagford also has more active facilities such as public tennis court and an open-air swimming pool to enjoy at your leisure. It is a town of great history, home to the Three Crowns Hotel which dates back to the 1200's. Chagford is well known for its culture, hosting film, literary and music festivals in the town as well as an annual running race, known as Two Hills Race. Just over 21 miles away is the bustling, beautiful city of Exeter for a different kind of break, definitely worth a visit. The charming, attractive town of Okehampton sits just 12 miles away.
