Heath Hills, a magnificent, detached 18th-century farmhouse, sits in the charming village of Folly Gate, not far from Okehampton in Devon.

Heath Hills is a great option for a group or family of 10 with its dog-friendly policy, boasting a stylish interior with original features, and a superb position on the fringes of Dartmoor National Park.

Okehampton has everything you need, including the Museum of Dartmoor Life, the impressive Okehampton Castle, restaurants like Ma'ida and Brothers, a selection of supermarkets, a wide variety of takeout options, and the Okehampton Show held annually in August.

Dartmoor National Park is home to many National Trust sites, including the Finch Foundry, Black-a-Tor, and Foggintor Quarry, and makes for some beautiful walking and cycling routes.

Just a five mile drive will take you to visit the stunning moorland scenery of Meldon Reservoir, almost 900 feet above sea level and offering a variety of footpaths and bridleways to explore.

Pick up the Tarka trail at Meeth to enjoy while walking or cycling alongside the river Okement or cycle the Granite Way to experience the surrounding countryside.

Visit the exceptional National Trust - Clyston Mill, or venture further to Exeter, home to a breath-taking cathedral, beautiful Northernhay Gardens, the Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery or the intriguing Underground Passages.

Okehampton is a busy market town on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park and near the highest and most dramatic areas of the moor, where Yes Tor rises to a height above 2000 feet. To the north of Okehampton are some beautiful rolling Devon hills where small farming villages nestle amidst woods and fields with plenty of gently flowing rivers. The fabulous Roadford Reservoir offers a multitude of watersport activities and fishing opportunities. Okehampton has a prominent medieval castle overlooking a wooded river valley, the Museum of Dartmoor Life and Okehampton train station, which has been restored to its 1950s glory: The Dartmoor Line now operates a service between Okehampton and Exeter every hour, 7 days a week.
