“Beautiful newly converted property but had no heating and the log fire shown working on your website was a photoshopped image The log fire was not ready for use, obviously the property was cool.”

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback, we are pleased you enjoyed the property. We have spoken with the owner who was very sorry that you were not able to light the fire, unfortunately they had not anticipated that it may be needed in September. There is now a plentiful supply of logs and the wood burner is available for use. Property Owner

The property

Just a mile from the vibrant square of the popular Dartmoor town of Chagford in Devon is this Grade II listed cottage.

Beautifully converted, Maple Cottage sits in a quiet private courtyard alongside four other cottages all crafted from traditional stone barns.

Effortlessly stylish and thoroughly well done, the interior space has been carefully designed using light and colour to create a wonderfully relaxing, contemporary retreat.

There can be nothing nicer after a day on the moor, than to settle down in front of the crackling wood burning stove with a favourite movie and a glass of something cool.

The kitchen has been newly fitted and features a range of modern appliances so that you can prepare home cooked meals.

Under the eaves on the first floor are two tranquil double bedrooms where you're assured of a peaceful night's sleep and a simply stunning shower room completes the accommodation.

At the front of the cottage is a terraced garden where you can sit out and enjoy a relaxed supper or morning coffee.

With pristine countryside all around, this is a great area for exploring.

Head along the winding lane into Chagford to explore the independent shops followed by a pub lunch in a choice of excellent inns.

In the summer months, you can take a refreshing dip in the town's famous fresh water lido.

Dartmoor's vast open spaces are within easy reach and can be explored on foot, by bike or car.

A National Trust gem, Castle Drogo and its magnificent gardens sit high above the Teign Valley is are well worth a visit.

Further afield, the historic Cathedral town of Exeter and sandy beaches of the South Hams are within an easy drive.

Maple Cottage is an idyllic place for enjoying stunning scenery and complete relaxation.
